TN Planned Parenthood chapters stripped of federal funding

Tennessean

The Metro Public Health Department will take over a $335,000 federal grant for family planning services, after a campaign to strip the funding from Planned Parenthood. Metro Health Director William Paul said in a letter Friday that his department will accept all federal money set aside for family planning in Davidson County. The money had previously been split between Metro and Planned Parenthood of Middle and East Tennessee.

Planned Parenthood will close its Doylestown [PA] clinic

Philly burbs
Planned Parenthood will close its Doylestown clinic on June 28. The decision to close the office came down to money, leaders of the organization said Friday. "Medicaid rates are an issue. We are the only family planning center in Bucks County to receive funds under that program. For us to serve the uninsured, underinsured and low income individuals, it's an important part of what we do. For years, our funding has not covered the costs of our services," said Helen Bosley, interim CEO of the Planned Parenthood Association of Bucks County.
Billboards highlight Latino abortion crisis in lead-up to Eduardo Verastegui event

Life Site News

Massive pro-life billboards erected in Los Angeles this week highlight the devastating impact of abortion on the United States' Latino population. Similar to billboards erected in New York earlier this year drawing attention to the stratospheric African-American abortion rate, the message plastered in Los Angeles reads: "The most dangerous place for a Latino is in the womb," in Spanish and English. The billboards are part of a kick-off campaign for a pro-life congress on June 12 at the Los Angeles Sports Arena. Called "Unidos por la Vida" (United for Life), the congress is sponsored by the pro-life Latino group Manto de Guadalupe, founded by the enormously popular singer and actor Eduardo Verástegui.
