Defund Planned Parenthood: Blood red phone symbolic of PP roots in North Carolina

Holding a blood red phone that was symbolic of her work in establishing Planned Parenthood in the Charlotte area, and parading the memory of a sexually abused, pregnant ten-year-old girl as a poster child for abortion, Sarah Bryant was recently honored by the Planned Parenthood Health Systems for "preventing unwanted pregnancies through sex education and contraception."

While the Charlotte Observer story points to prevention of unwanted pregnancy as Bryant's passion, it unwittingly illustrates her penchant for abortion.

Bryant's story highlights the case of the pregnant ten-year-old girl. "It was a tragic story, and that was a powerful moment for me," Bryant says. "That was a case when terminating a pregnancy was reasonable."

While Bryant makes no mention of the fact that it was child sex abuse that was responsible for this pregnancy--not lack of sex education or contraceptives--she uses the child's misfortune to attempt to make the case for abortion rather than making a case for stopping child sex abuse.

Bryant also opines that she "had" to refer a young wife who was sending her husband through graduate school to a private clinic because of a suspected unwanted pregnancy, presumably before Planned Parenthood opened its first facility in Charlotte in 1971.

The statistics show just how unsuccessful Planned Parenthood has been in preventing "unwanted" pregnancies in North Carolina through its immoral, perverse sex education and contraception.

In 1970, there were 1,357 abortions reported in North Carolina. In 1971, coinciding with the opening of Planned Parenthood's first facility in Charlotte, 4,378 abortions were reported--an increase of 223 percent. That number almost doubled in 1972, with 8,365 abortions reported. In 1973, when Roe v. Wade decriminalized abortion across the U.S., 11,935 abortions were reported. By 2002, the number of North Carolina abortions had risen to 25,883.

Across the nation, Planned Parenthood receives almost one million dollars per day from government grants and programs. In 2009, Planned Parenthood facilities killed 332,278 innocent preborn babies, over 6,300 per week.

It is government money that is keeping the abortion giant alive, along with the much-needed community support. When we tell the truth about Planned Parenthood, community support wanes. When we cut off funding, the evil abortion machine cannot run and will begin shutting down facilities.

Visit our Defund Planned Parenthood Action Center today and click "Contact Congress" to send a letter demanding that Planned Parenthood receive no funding in the upcoming budget.

Planned Parenthood welcome at Hampdenfest; churches banned

The Respect Life Committee from St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Hampden, Maryland, has had a booth at Hampdenfest for several years, but was banned this year--along with all other churches and faith-based groups--by the organizers. They claim the pro-life group, said to be sanctioned by Catholic Archdiocese of Baltimore, is "problematic" and has been asked to "tone down their behavior" on several occasions. The booth features the usual pro-life booth fare: fetal development models and literature, along with information about resources in the community that can help with pregnancy.

While rejecting the Respect Life Committee and all other church-based groups, the organizers approved Planned Parenthood's participation.

The main attraction at the festival, according to a

Baltimore Sun article, was toilet races. One of the participants was a man who wore nothing but a diaper. It seems that if anything needs to be toned down, it's the tone of the festival.

STOPP readers are urged to contact the Hampden Community Council athccinfo@gmail.com and ask what is being done to rectify the situation where all faith-based groups have been banned from Hampdenfest, while the nation's largest abortion chain is welcome.

Planned Parenthood fighter extraordinaire to be honored at Planned Parenthood prayer vigil

American Life League mourns the tragic loss of former staff member Kortney Blythe Gordon and her preborn baby, who were killed in a head-on collision Saturday while returning from a pro-life conference in Georgia.

Kortney, 28, was recently married to Benjamin Gordon, and was 21 weeks pregnant with their first child, Sophy.

At the time of her death, Kortney was employed by Students for Life of America. There is no doubt that she saved untold thousands of preborn babies during her short life. She was a teacher and role model to pro-life advocates throughout the nation. She was tireless and fearless in bringing the fight to Planned Parenthood. Kortney left a mark on the pro-life movement that will not be forgotten.

In memory of Kortney and Sophy, a prayer vigil has been organized at Planned Parenthood of Metropolitan Washington, D.C., where she often prayed and engaged in sidewalk counseling. It is scheduled for Saturday, October 15 from 11 a.m. until noon. For more information, click

here.

Another Students for Life staffer remains hospitalized in extremely critical condition. Two students who were in the car are also hospitalized with very serious internal injuries. The driver of the other car was also killed. Please pray for the repose of the souls of those who died, for the comfort of their families, and for the healing of those who were injured.

Virginia Beach pro-lifers send a message to the community

Louantha sacred work

Planned Parenthood and its supporting groups have long referred to abortion as "sacred work."

Trying to bring that mantra down to a level that might be acceptable to the community while attempting to justify its existence, Planned Parenthood in Virginia Beach placed a large banner over its door that reads: "Planning for Parenthood is Sacred Work."

Virginia Beach pro-lifers responded immediately with their own banner, which is held beside the busy road in front of the abortion facility. It reads: "Planning to Kill Babies is NOT Sacred Work."

Planned Parenthood in Virginia Beach has been forced to fight tooth and nail for its survival because of the immediate, strong, and constant opposition by many churches in the vicinity. Congratulations to Louantha Kerr (pictured center) and other Virginia Beach pro-life advocates who stand in the gap day after day defending the children of the community from the abortion giant.

Bringing Jesus to Planned Parenthood through Mary: Judie Brown

When American Life League launched its campaign

Bringing Jesus to Planned Parenthood through Mary on May 15, 2010, American Life League's cofounder, Judie Brown, stood across the street from Planned Parenthood of Metropolitan Washington, D.C., and boldly proclaimed:

The only way to stop Planned Parenthood is through prayer, through sacrifice, and through public witness to the evil that is going on within the walls of those buildings.

As someone who has been involved in the pro-life movement for almost 40 years, I can never forget the first person who said to me that the rosary is the only weapon that will ever shut down Planned Parenthood and will ever stop abortion, and that person was Professor Charles Rice.

He said it then, nobody paid attention to him. We are saying it again now, and people are going to pay attention to us, and we are going to stop Planned Parenthood.

The rosary and consecration to Our Lady were the foundation of our fight against Planned Parenthood in the Texas Panhandle that resulted in the closure of 19 Planned Parenthood facilities in the top 26 counties of Texas. The rosary is the greatest weapon we have in this battle against the abortion giant. Visit our website today to learn more about our campaign, Bringing Jesus to Planned Parenthood through Mary. There are many components to the fight against Planned Parenthood, but once the fight is consecrated to Our Lady, all the other pieces will fall into place, and Planned Parenthood will fall.

Victories on the sidewalk: Saving babies at Planned Parenthood

A recent update from 40 Days for Life organizers reports 122 babies have been spared from a grisly death at Planned Parenthood and other abortion facilities so far during this campaign.

At Planned Parenthood in Indianapolis, a young father of five (with the fifth still in the womb) came out to tell prayer volunteers that he and his wife had decided not to go through with the abortion.

In Anchorage, Alaska, a volunteer was praying at Planned Parenthood when someone drove by and threw a bottle at him. Rather than following his first instinct and fleeing, he stayed and continued to pray. A woman subsequently came out of the facility and told him she had decided to keep her baby.

God rewards us in so many ways when we go out to the Planned Parenthood facilities to pray. Lives and souls are saved, and Planned Parenthood is thwarted in its efforts to sexualize our children.

Congratulations to all those who are on the sidewalks in rain and shine, hot and cold, during this 40 Days for Life campaign and beyond. If you have not yet signed up for your hour, it is not too late. Go to www.40daysforlife.com and sign up today to save lives at a local Planned Parenthood facility.
