Pro-Lifers Lobbying Hard to Pass Ban on Late Abortions in DC
Leading pro-life groups are working overtime to convince members of the House to support a bill up for a vote tomorrow that would ban abortions after 20 weeks of pregnancy in the nation s capital.
The House is scheduled to consider H.R. 3803, the D.C. Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act, on Tuesday following an afternoon debate. H.R. 3541 is scheduled for consideration under Suspension of the Rules, so a two-thirds majority will be necessary for passage a number that will be difficult to reach given the pushback from pro-abortion groups bent on keeping abortion on demand legal throughout pregnancy in the District of Columbia. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/07/27/obama-hhs-abortion-mandate-halted-by-federal-court/
Judge Upholds Arizona Law Banning Abortions After 20 Weeks
A federal judge in Arizona has issued a ruling upholding that state s new law that goes into effect on Thursday and bans abortions after 20 weeks of pregnancy.
The ACLU sued to stop the law after legislators passed the bill to ban abortions after that period of time except in very rare cases of medical emergency. The bill also requires abortion facilities to allow women to have an ultrasound of their unborn baby at least 24 hours prior to having the abortion. In many cases women change their minds about a planned abortion after seeing the images of their developing child. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/07/30/judge-upholds-arizona-law-banning-abortions-after-20-weeks/
Romney Applauds Ruling Striking Blow at Obama HHS Mandateent
Presidential candidate Mitt Romney is elated that a federal court has issued the first victory for pro-life advocates taking on the controversial Obama HHS mandate that requires religious employers to pay for or refer employees for birth control and abortion-causing drugs.
Romney said he was pleased the court issued an injunction in one case to prevent the federal government from requiring businesses to cover contraception in their health plans.
Freedom of conscience has won an important victory, Romney said, saying the injunction preventing the federal government from forcing one family business from having to choose between keeping its doors open and violating its faith is a step in the right direction. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/07/30/romney-applauds-ruling-striking-blow-at-obama-hhs-mandate/
Colorado Theater Shooter Won t be Charged for Killing Unborn Baby
Alleged Colorado theater shooter James Holmes appeared in court today and was charged with 24 counts of murder and 116 counts of attempted murder in the horrific shooting during the opening of the latest Batman movie.
Although prosecutors want to hold him accountable for the death of each and every person who died or he attempted to kill that evening, Holmes will not be charged with killing an unborn child. That s because Colorado is one of more than a dozen states that does not recognize unborn children as people before birth for the purposes of criminal law. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/07/30/colorado-theater-shooter-wont-be-charged-for-killing-unborn-baby/
Chinese Woman Saves 30 Babies From Trash, Becomes Local Hero
A Chinese woman has become a local hero thanks in part to her work finding and raising babies she has found abandoned on the streets of Jinhua, where she lives. Lou Xiaoying is an 88-year-old woman suffering from kidney failure who has found the abandoned infants and children some of them who were left in the trash.
She has her husband, who passed away 17 years ago, kept four of the children to raise and placed the others with loving families. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/07/30/chinese-woman-saves-30-babies-from-trash-becomes-local-hero/
When Moms Reject Abortion Suggestion, Miracles Happen
Leyna Gonzalez is a precious little girl a 20 month old bundle of energy and joy. Against all odds, she is with us today.
While in utero, an ultrasound was performed at seventeen weeks that revealed she had a rare tumor protruding from her mouth an oral teratoma making her survival highly unlikely.
When the tumor was discovered doctors discussed with Leyna s mother how she could manage the pregnancy. One option was termination (abortion), while another possibility included an in utero surgery to remove Leyna s tumor. Thankfully, neither tumor nor abortion would take her life that day. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/07/30/when-moms-reject-abortion-suggestion-miracles-happen/

Underpopulation is Taking America Over a Financial Cliff
Social security is about to go belly up, financially speaking. And at the head of this crisis is a demographic disproportion: there are simply too few young people coming into the workforce to support the increasing numbers of elderly baby boomers who are retiring. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/07/30/underpopulation-is-taking-america-over-a-financial-cliff/
Ban on Abortions in DC After 20 Weeks Protects Women s Health
In Washington, DC, no protections exist for unborn children and for their mothers from the harms that abortion inflicts. This week, Congress will have a chance to remedy that. The House of Representatives will hold a vote on the H.R. 3803: the District of Columbia Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act. At stake, the long-term welfare of women, girls and their unborn children. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/07/30/ban-on-abortions-in-dc-after-20-weeks-protects-womens-health/
Just Say No: Why Abstinence Is the Way to Go
On July 6, 2012, the House Committee on Energy and Commerce released a pro-abstinence staff report called A Better Approach to Teenage Pregnancy Prevention: Sexual Risk Avoidance. This report details how Sexual Risk Avoidance (SRA), abstinence, truly lowers the rates of sexually transmitted infections (STI s) and unintended teenage pregnancies as opposed to comprehensive sex education (CSE), which only focuses on reducing these risks. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/07/30/just-say-no-why-abstinence-is-the-way-to-go/

Pro-Choice New Yorkers: You Got What You Wanted in Bloomberg
You wanted to do whatever you wanted to do with your body, and then claim you had a right to kill your own children when you conceived them because it was just so unfair for anyone to expect you to let that child use you against your will. You said you needed your choices, and you needed them without judgement or criticism. You tossed God s law aside and said that your rights come from man s law, and that worked for you as long as you thought you were getting your way. Motherhood be damned. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/07/30/pro-choice-new-yorkers-you-got-what-you-wanted-in-bloomberg/
