Let me commit political heresy in this presidential election year: It's not the economy, stupid! Our first freedoms----those freedoms enumerated in the First Amendment----are being recklessly discarded by the ruling class in favor of government ideology.
It seems that America's citizenry has become so numb to outrageous political acts that even trampling our constitutional rights barely raises an eyebrow. If we remember back to when schools actually taught such things,
the linchpin of the American Constitution is the Bill of Rights. Those were the
rights the founding fathers of this great nation felt were necessary to spell out in
the Constitution in order to safeguard us and our democracy from intrusive government. |
|  Kansas officials under investigation for ethical misconduct in botched Planned Parenthood prosecution

Operation Rescue has been informed by the Office of the Disciplinary Administrator that ethics complaints filed against Kansas Attorney General Derek Schmidt and Johnson County District Attorney Steve Howe have been docketed and will be investigated. The complaints, filed by Operation Rescue Senior Policy Advisor Cheryl Sullenger, involve allegations of professional misconduct---- including lying to a District Court Judge----that resulted in the fraudulent dismissal of 107 criminal charges against Comprehensive Health of Planned Parenthood in Overland Park. Planned Parenthood had been charged with illegal late-term abortions and manufacturing evidence to cover crimes by former prosecutor Phill Kline in 2007. The last of the charges were dismissed in August, 2012. |

A Chicago business owner filed a lawsuit today against the Obama administration, challenging a mandate requiring companies to offer contraceptives and potential abortion-inducing drugs under their insurance plans. John Kennedy, president of both Autocam Automotive and Autocam Medical, said the government's health care law forces him and his family to abandon their religious beliefs, which motivated them to offer high wages and quality benefits. The company was named one of Michigan's healthiest employers this year for its benefits plan. | |
