Dear Friends For Life,
One of Planned Parenthood's favorite ruses these days is its claim that giving birth is much more dangerous than abortion. David Reardon of the Elliot Institute and Priscilla Coleman from Bowling Green State University published a study in the Medical Science Monitor September 1, 2012, that adds to the body of evidence that refutes PP's oft repeated claim. The new study concludes that, "Compared to women who delivered, women who had an early or late abortion had significantly higher mortality rates within one through 10 years." While Planned Parenthood and cohorts wildly claim that abortion is 14 times safer than childbirth, Reardon explains that, "ompared to women who gave birth, women who had abortions were about twice as likely to die in each of the 10 years following an abortion." He also says that in the first year after abortion, suicide is the number one cause of death for post-abortive women. (from STOPP)
God Bless,
Jerry Novotny, OMI

(Homosexuality ): "Yes to You" - A powerful new video from Fr. Pontifex and Spirit Juice Studios. This is precisely what those struggling with same-sex attraction need to hear from the Church.

ITEM #1: Sri Lankans look to Korea for better wages
Alawwa, a town best known for a serious train accident a year ago, is a little more than a minor stop on the A6 highway. But like most places in Sir Lanka these days, it is possible to study Korean here.

ITEM #2: Euthanasia Is Out Of Control In The Netherlands - New Dutch Statistics
The media in the Netherlands has reported today that the number of euthanasia deaths in the Netherlands in 2011 increased by 18% to 3695 and there were 13 reported psychiatric patients who died by euthanasia, up from 2 reported psychiatric euthanasia deaths in 2010.

ITEM #3: Contracepting the world's youth
For the past several years, a coalition of international organizations has sponsored World Contraception Day (WCD) on September 26. The goal of the organizers, which include the largest abortion providers in the world and the American taxpayer-funded United States Agency for International Development (USAID), is to target young people (including teenagers) with "unbiased information about contraception."

ITEM #4: Sperm-donor father of 43 children passed on genetic disease
The man was allowed to continue donating, despite national rules in Denmark restricting donors to 25 times.
****************************************
ITEM #5: The Consequences of Instability: Children and Same-Sex Divorce
Cohabitation and divorce both have significant negative effects on child well-being. Since marital instability is a commonly reported cause of divorce, should we place even more children at risk by legally redefining marriage to include same-sex partnerships?
****************************************
ITEM #6: Human trafficking: the modern form of slavery
Human trafficking has in the past two decades become more prominent in international news, but still isn't covered nearly enough. The complex matrixes of origin, transit and destination countries run through the main hubbubs of East Asia, Southeast Asia and Eastern Europe.
****************************************
ITEM #7 Southeast Asia 'exploding' with diabetes
Of the estimated 366 million diabetics as of 2011, around 90 million are in China; 50 million, Europe; 30 million, Northern America; 11 million, Japan. The preceding statistics from the International Diabetes Foundation's Diabetes Atlas were presented by Novo Nordisk.

ITEM #8: World Health Organization Promotes New "How-To" Abortion Manual
The World Health Organization (WHO) is devoting much staff time and resources to promoting the legalization of abortion around the world. In fact, it has just come out with a new "how-to" manual entitled Safe abortion: technical and policy guidance for health systems.
****************************************
ITEM #9: USAID Pushes Long-Term Contraception on Poor Women With Tax Money
USAID used the occasion of World Contraception Day to announce a new commitment to provide the longterm contraceptive implant - known as Jadelle, to women in the poorest countries of the world.

ITEM #10: New Billboard Campaign Exposes How Abortion Takes the Place of Fathers
In the early 60s politicians raised the alarm about a 25% fatherlessness rate in the black community. Today, 41% of all U.S. children are born to unmarried women: 35.7% of white children and an astounding 72.3% of black children. Children who grow up in single female-led homes are 5 times more likely to live in poverty. Out of the 1.21 million annual U.S. abortions, 84% are among unmarried women. This is a nationwide crisis. Abortion and poverty have taken the place of fathers.

ITEM #11: The Roe v. Wade of Our Time: the Battle over Marriage
Gay activists have marketed "gay marriage" as an issue of equal rights and compassion, but at it's heart it is not about either. It is about changing the function of marriage as a public policy by making small changes to certain words in the law surrounding marriage and family. As a matter of justice and social responsibility, we must try to forecast what will happen to people and society as a result of those legal changes.
****************************************ITEM #12: Mother vs. Child: A War without Winners
"America needs no words from me to see how your decision in Roe v. Wade has deformed a great nation. The so-called right to abortion has pitted mothers against their children and women against men. It has sown violence and discord at the heart of the most intimate human relationships. It has aggravated the derogation of the father's role in an increasingly fatherless society. It has portrayed the greatest of gifts - a child - as a competitor, an intrusion, and an inconvenience. It has nominally accorded mothers unfettered dominion over the independent lives of their physically dependent sons and daughters." -Mother Theresa
