Dear Friends for Life,
Here are a few quick facts showing that Pornography Harms Marriage. ** American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers found that "an obsessive interest in Internet pornography" was a significant factor in 56 percent of their divorce cases.
** Many partners feel that pornography is a devastating betrayal and describe pornography as just as painful or more painful than what we describe as a traditional affair/infidelity.
** More than 50% of those engaged in "sexual Internet interactions" had lost interest in sexual intercourse. One-third of their partners had lost interest as well.
** Addiction to pornography has led to: 40% of "sex addicts" lost their spouses; 58% suffer considerable financial losses; one-third lose their jobs
** Severe clinical depression was reported twice as frequently among Internet pornography users compared to non-users.
This is becoming a very serious problem today. The sad part is that porn websites have no supervision and anyone with a computer can access this crime against humanity, especially our innocent children. Consider what these perverted scenes do to an innocent mind and a future life..... What can you do as a parent, teacher or leader in society to prevent this billion dollar industry from infringing on your right to educate your children?
God Bless,
Jerry Novotny, OMI
(The Difference is LIFE) "The whole course of Christianity from the first ... is but one series of troubles and disorders. Every century is like every other, and to those who live in it seems worse than all times before it. The Church is ever ailing ... Religion seems ever expiring, schisms dominant, the light of truth dim, its adherents scattered. The cause of Christ is ever in its last agony." - Blessed John Henry Cardinal Newman

(Human Life): "Five Awesome Pro-Life Videos of 2012 Everyone Should Watch" - In 2010, the Kaiser Family Foundation released a study showing that 8-18 year olds spend an average of 7.5 hours every day with media devices. These include cell phones (many of which have internet connection), TV, computers, and the like. It's clear that the more life-affirming videos, commercials, and short clips that we can put out there, the more we will reach our youth.

ITEM #1: The Cover-Up: Why U.S. Abortion Mortality Statistics Are Meaningless
How can there be such an extensive cover-up of abortion-related deaths? Prior to legalization, abortion-related deaths were carefully and accurately reported because these deaths resulted from an illegal activity. But today, abortion is not only legal but is politically protected. Indeed, the CDC's abortion surveillance unit is not only run by abortion advocates, it has regularly employed practicing abortionists! Clearly, the CDC's abortion surveillance unit is more interested in protecting the health of the American abortion industry than in protecting the health of American women.

ITEM #2: Abortionists Are Not Held Accountable for Mistakes
Abortion is one of the most frequently performed surgical procedures in the United States, yet it is the least regulated. It is the only elective surgical procedure that I know of in which the doctor performing the procedure is not responsible for follow-up care, nor does he or she take an active role in dealing with the complications. Not only this, but the very nature of abortion clinics, which practice in isolation from the rest of the medical community, keeps the abortion provider free from accountability for these complications.

ITEM #3: "Invisible" Abortion Deaths
Christina Dunigan of Real Choice does a terrific job of documenting the deaths of women who died as a result of abortion both before and after Roe v. Wade - deaths that are often unnoticed or forgotten. A key feature of her blog is a daily post remembering women and girls who died from abortion on that date. It's grim reading, but it also helps ensure that these women's lives and deaths are not forgotten and raises awareness that the legalization of abortion hasn't stopped women from being abused, exploited or even killed by abortion.

ITEM #4: Lesbian Mothers' Children
This month yielded yet another published study - which received positive media attention - based on the National Longitudinal Lesbian Family Study.
****************************************
ITEM #5: The Mirena IUD is Becoming More Popular - and the Lawsuits are Piling Up
One of the more dangerous side effects is that Mirena may become embedded into the wall of the uterus, or it may actually perforate it. In fact, there have been reports of the IUD actually migrating outside the uterus through a hole of its own making, there to cause scarring, infection, or damage to other organs. If the device embeds in or perforates the uterine wall, surgery will be required to remove it. With all of these side effects, it is no surprise that the number of lawsuits is proliferating.

ITEM #6: Kazakhstan: Grappling with Human Trafficking
"They abused us. They beat us. We slept in the cellar - there were no blankets or pillows. They fed us rotten food. It was terrible," soft-spoken Fatima recalled in an interview with EurasiaNet.org in the office of Shymkent-based NGO Sana Sezim, or "conscience" in Kazakh. The group assists trafficking victims.

ITEM #7 Gays Against Gay Marriage: Do They Exist? Do They Matter?
But conservative gays do exist. There are gays who do not agree with the gay marriage issue. I keep wondering why liberal gays get all the media attention. Why are liberal gays the only gays you see on TV with signs and banners? Why are they the ones who get interviews and publicity, and not the others? Isn't the marriage issue a gay issue? Well actually, no, it's not. And that's why gays against gay marriage get zero publicity. If they did, it might become clear to the American public that the marriage issue is not a gay issue.

ITEM #8: Dissent Against Humanae Vitae Lacks Charity and Truth
Today as people of true Christian hope we must have the courage to look honestly at the root of the corruption that we see around us. We must unite in charity and in truth, rather than in niceness and utility. And the truth is that there is something that precedes the widespread crime of abortion - a mentality that has arisen from the acceptance and use of contraception. This contraceptive mentality is why otherwise educated people think that they can and even should have sex without the intention of having children. Thus, when contraception fails (or is not used), abortion is just the next logical means of preventing the unintended outcome, but the natural product, of their freely chosen action. ******************************
ITEM #9: Does Pornography Harm Anyone?
While the media industry and some advocates would have us believe porn is harmless, acceptable, and natural, the reality is much different.
****************************************
ITEM #10: Ethics concerns still rage in face of stem cell breakthroughs
Guidelines from the education and science ministry forbid fertilization of eggs and sperm derived from iPS cells. Experts say issues could arise in the future over whether to allow such technology to be used at all or to make it available, for example to gay couples wanting to have children.
****************************************
ITEM #11: 2012: An awesome year for Saving Downs
A key area of our work has always been to raise awareness of the discriminatory and eugenic practice of antenatal genetic screening and disability selective abortion in New Zealand. Our work has had widespread media coverage in newspapers and mainstream TV news throughout 2012. People may choose to look the other way but they can no longer say that they do not know what is going on.
****************************************
ITEM #12: Reflections on Women and Disaster
"Albeit all this, a woman does not give up. She's not weak. Her responsibilities and duties along with the taunts and abuses have made her strong from the outset."
