The Pill Kills Marriage

The sanctity of marriage sometimes seems like an elusive dream in today's world. When it is not respected as a sacrament or for the union and commitment that God intended, it is easy to see why so many marriages fail. Society's attitudes about marriage often lack the knowledge that a couple must invite Christ into the marriage and be open to His will. Today's commentary examines how disregarding God's will for marriage and family-by doing things contrary to the Church's teaching-can lead to the demise of marriages.

Pro-Life, Planned Parenthood feud heats up with new neighbors

KXXV

For anyone who's driven down Columbus Avenue on a Thursday morning, it's a common sight: Demonstrators from Pro-Life Waco [an American Life League Associate group] praying and holding signs in front of Planned Parenthood of Central Texas' Waco clinic. It's a cold war that's drawn out for seventeen years, ever since the clinic began offering abortions in 1994. Now after nearly two decades, the same protestors have moved into the house next door. It's no surprise, then, that the temperature is already rising between these old foes. "You better believe we're ramping up," says John Pisciotta, Director of Pro-Life Waco. "We want to engage this controversy."

Pepsi's Bizarro World: Boycotted Over Embryonic Cells Linked to Lo-Cal Soda

Bnet
A bizarre controversy is unfolding over an impending low-calorie soda from Pepsi (PEP), which the company is creating with the help of the biotech company Senomyx (SNMX). Numerous anti-abortion groups have started a boycott of Pepsi products because they say Senomyx, which develops new ingredients intended to enhance sweetness and other flavors, has done so using embryonic kidney cells that were originally taken from an aborted baby. This accusation presents a two-fold problem for Pepsi. The first, most obvious one is that the beverage giant has now ardent anti-abortionists breathing down its neck. The second, and possibly more troubling, issue is that some of Pepsi's attempts to create groundbreaking and healthier products are now associated with fetal kidney cells.
Girl with Down syndrome named prom queen at Missouri school

Life Site News

Here's a feel-good story for you. Students at a high school in Missouri have voted to crown a 19-year-old classmate who has Down syndrome as this year's prom queen. But this story is more than just a heart-warming tale of a school rallying around a girl born with a disability, and that girl's power to touch the lives of those she knows. In an age where over 90% of Down syndrome children are aborted in Western countries, the story has a powerful message about acceptance and the need to dispel the destructive myths that have come to surround Down syndrome.
