Lifeissues.net: clear thinking about crucial issues

Dear Friends For Life,
Received the following email from Ron Panzer who heads "Hospice Patients Alliance". He states: Wesley J Smith has written a very important article showing how twisted the thinking of the euthanasia-zealots is, and how they would re-define death yet again, in order to be able to openly do what they are already doing through stealth euthanasia in many settings. Sedating a patient into death would be approved methods of health "care!"

They consider "mercy" to be killing, not caring, and killing is honoring "non-abandonment" of the patient, rather than the most perverse and worst form of abandonment.

See article here. If this upsets you, then please get involved, because they are very active, and too many of those who care about life remain silent. - From Ron.

Ron's informative articles dealing with Euthanasia can be found at http://lifeissues.net/writer.php?writerID=153
God Bless,

(The Difference is LIFE) "Marriage unites a man and a woman with each other and any children born from their union." "Recognized in their own ways throughout time by every culture, state, and religion, this is what marriage is. It is not a matter of faith, but a human reality. It is God's plan for creation, but is independent of belief in God."

(HIV/AIDS): "Bill Gates’ Condom Contest Will Ensure Continued AIDS Crisis" -  The primary danger here is that promotion of a "new and improved" condom is just going to lead to more of the same results we have already seen. As the saying goes, "If you keep on doing what you’ve always done, you'll keep on getting what you’ve always got." And the last thing Africa needs now is more AIDS.

ITEM #1: Hospitals playing 'Russian roulette' with dementia patients

The situation is most marked for patients coming in for pre-planned operations like hip replacements or cataract removals, found the CQC after looking at 400,000 hospital admissions. In such patients, those with dementia are at more twice the risk of dying than those of similar age and health, who do not have the brain disease.

****************************************

ITEM #2: New prenatal test in high demand but limited to risk cases

As medical technology advances, Tamai said he believes there could come a time when women can find out if the babies they are carrying will develop cancer or be afflicted with depression. "Right now, it is just the three types of trisomy. But pretty soon, doctors will be able to map out the information of fetuses and various genetic disorders may be identified before birth," Tamai said. "Where do we draw the line - what sort of abnormality is 'OK' to be brought into this world and what isn't?"

****************************************

ITEM #3:  No regrets for mothers of children with Down syndrome

On a chilly afternoon in early spring, Mayumi Mitogawa, 52, and her 14-year-old son, Yutaka, sat together on a bench, getting ready to have their picture taken. "He just loves to make people laugh," Mitogawa said, smiling affectionately at her son - who was born with trisomy 21, which causes Down syndrome - as he fooled around mimicking the motions of famous Japanese comedians. "I know that some people refer to children with Down syndrome as angels, but I don't see my son like that. He is just human."

****************************************

ITEM #4: Pro-Life Means Anti-Drone

If life is sacred, how can we justify the random killing of innocent children?

****************************************

ITEM #5: Pornography online is warping children's minds, teachers warn

Teachers are to call for new guidelines on how to tackle the growing problem of sexual activity among pupils. They will warn that the increased availability of pornography on the internet is warping school pupils' ideas of sexual relationships and that children are often engaging in sexual behaviour on school premises.

****************************************

ITEM #6: How Did We Get Into This Mess? The Legacy of Postmodernism
Why is all of this important?  Because, as you may have noticed, those of us who are trying to defend traditional morality and traditional values are facing a very strong headwind. Some basic principles of Postmodernism must be squarely opposed, such as: that there is no truth, no objective reality, and that words have no specific meaning.
****************************************

ITEM #7 Questions Answered
How should we deal with dissenting Catholic politicians?
Is there a moral obligation to reverse a vasectomy?

****************************************

ITEM #8: They Said 'No!': What happened when 12 nurses refused to participate in abortions
Nurses in a big city hospital never know what a day's shift will bring - straightforward cases or medical miracles, major crises or minor first aid. Whatever her station, whatever the duty of the moment, a nurse tries to ready herself for anything. But some things, you just can't see coming.

****************************************

ITEM #9: Doctors paid millions to shill for Big Pharma

Thousands of physicians are profiting from promotional speaking gigs for drugmakers, but is the practice ethical?

****************************************

ITEM #10: Data reveal scale of China abortions

Chinese doctors have performed more than 330m abortions since the government implemented a controversial family planning policy 40 years ago, according to official data from the health ministry.
****************************************
ITEM #11: Depersonalizing Women's Health
Tf abortion becomes a fundamental right, then refusing to refer would constitute an act of discrimination. This threatens the closure of State certified institutions that refuse to refer such as Catholic hospitals, and clinics. Additionally, this could pave the way for costly discrimination lawsuits against Good Samaritan providers like independent physicians and pro-life medical pregnancy centers.
****************************************ITEM #12: Swedish officials baffled that abortion rate rises despite access to morning-after pill
Swedish government officials are baffled at statistics that show the abortion rate has actually increased since the introduction of the abortifacient morning after pill.
