Really, Mr. President?

Dear John,

Well, just when I thought I'd seen it all—last week President Obama sent a special video message to the Catholic Health Association thanking them for their "help and courage" in passing health care, and called it a "a major victory for our nation, for human dignity, and for the most vulnerable among us."

I was speechless at such a statement. How could the President claim that the health care bill was "a victory for the most vulnerable among us?" The most vulnerable among us are unborn children in the womb.  The fact is, Obamacare is the largest expansion of abortion since Roe, which will lead to the deaths of untold numbers of unborn children.

As you remember, while you and I were fighting for an authentic pro-life amendment to be added to the health care bill last summer, other groups were working against us. Not just Planned Parenthood and NARAL, but groups like the Catholic Health Association. Led by Sister Carol Keehan, the CHA wasinstrumental in passing Obamacare that included taxpayer funding of abortion.  That's why the President singled them out for special praise.

Despite their "Catholic" status, the CHA defied the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops by supporting Obamacare that included taxpayer funding of abortion. Their support provided political cover to Rep. Bart Stupak and the other so-called "pro-life" Democrats who chose party over principle at the last minute—abandoning innocent unborn babies.

John, the Susan B. Anthony List needs your immediate financial support to keep fighting the expansion of abortion through health care reform. This fight isn't over. The Executive Order accepted by Rep. Stupak and the others is NOT a fix for all the problems presented by this bill. If Congress doesn't pass a real law to defend the unborn, innocent lives will be lost in untold numbers.

With your help, we can and will keep working to protect innocent unborn children and their mothers!

In his message, President Obama specially thanked Sr. Keehan for the "extraordinary leadership she's provided in advancing our national discussion." What national discussion?  By supporting taxpayer funding of abortion, and defying the leadership of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops, Sr. Keehan didn't advance a discussion, she advanced the radical abortion agenda of President Obama, Majority Leader Harry Reid and Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

As a Catholic, I say that Keehan and the CHA certainly do not speak for me. So long as groups like the CHA continue to undermine us in the fight to defend unborn lives we must work three times as hard.

John, this fight is not over. The SBA List is committed to advancing real pro-life legislation, like the Protect Life Act, which repeals the abortion funding in the health care bill. We are also working to elect leaders who will fight to pass these laws this November. Without electing the right people, it will be an uphill battle to ever pass any laws to protect the unborn and stop the radical Obama agenda. Please contribute now to help the SBA List fight for unborn boys and girls across this country.

We have many reasons for hope. For every Bart Stupak, there is a Joe Pitts or a Michele Bachmann, who are working tirelessly on laws like the Protect Life Act.With your help, the Susan B. Anthony List will work to expose the lies of President Obama, inform the America public about what Obamacare really does, and elect people who will push for real pro-life laws in Congress.

We cannot rest until the expansion of abortion through "health care" is ended. Please give whatever you can to support the Susan B. Anthony List today!

With you in this fight for Life,
Marjorie Dannenfelser
President, Susan B. Anthony List
