Were there to be no support in the whole history of ethical and moral thought, were there no acknowledged confirmation from medical science, were the history of legal opinion to the contrary, we would still have to conclude on the basis of God's Holy Word that the unborn child is a person in the sight of God. He is protected by the sanctity of life graciously given to each individual by the Creator, Who alone places His image upon man and grants them any right to life which they have.

WCF Communications Director Don Feder will deliver a Family Policy Lecture on June 24

World Congress of Families Communications Director to Discuss Demographic Winter at Family Research Council on June 24

WASHINGTON, June 23 /Christian Newswire/ -- WCF Communications Director Don Feder will deliver a Family Policy Lecture on June 24, at 11am in the Media Center of the Family Research Council on "The Roots of Demographic Winter and the Global Economic Crisis." Feder recently spoke on falling fertility at the WCF Regional Congress/Family Values Conference in London (June 2), and at Warrane College at the University of New South Wales (May 13).

Feder was formerly associated with the documentaries "Demographic Winter: the Decline of the Human Family," and "Demographic Bomb: Demography Is Destiny," as director of communications and principal public spokesman (www.demographicwinter.com).

Larry Jacobs, WCF Managing Director, said the lecture could not be more timely. "We wonder why there's no economic recovery. Liberals say more stimulus spending is the answer. Conservatives say cut taxes. They're both missing the big picture -- the impact of declining fertility and aging societies on economies. According to a June 16 story in The New York Times, housing sales dropped by 20% over the same period last year. Few observers relate this to the fact that the Baby Boom generation (the largest in U.S. history) is trying to sell large homes they no longer need, and the unmarried singles and much smaller families of Generation X can't pick up the slack."

Demographic Winter is a signature issue of World Congress of Families, which began discussing falling fertility in 1999 at World Congress of Families II.
