Planned Parenthood vs. parental rights - Alaska's 13-year battle against the abortion profiteer For thirteen years, the parents of Alaska have been battling for the right to protect their minor daughters from the Planned Parenthood abortion profiteers. Planned Parenthood, heavily funded by government money, has once again mounted its relentless assault on parental rights. The battle dates back to 1997, when the Alaska legislature approved a law requiring parental consent before a minor girl could procure an abortion. The law was intended to insure that parents have the right to protect their immature children and teens from making decisions that are harmful to them and deadly to their grandchildren. The parental consent law was challenged by the ACLU and Planned Parenthood, and was overturned in 1998 by an Alaska judge who ignored state law and precedent, deeming the law unconstitutional. The same judge once again ruled it unconstitutional in 2003 under the equal protection and privacy clauses of the Alaska Constitution. The state of Alaska appealed, and in 2007, the Alaska Supreme Court ruled the law unconstitutional on privacy grounds. The sponsor of the 1997 legislation, Rep. John Coghill, points out rightfully that the primary purpose of the right to privacy is "to protect Alaskans from 'unwarranted intrusions by the State' (Ravin, P.2d 514)." "How can this be interpreted to mean a parent has no say in the approval of a medical procedure for a minor that would result in the termination of an unborn relative? State law already requires parental consent for tattoos, immunization, school use of student information, body piercing, school travel for extra-curricular activities, marrying, entering the military, and all medical procedures except abortion," he said. Determined to protect their children from Planned Parenthood, the parents of Alaska let their voices be heard once again, and passed an initiative known as Measure 2 on this year's August primary ballot, requiring parental notification before a minor under 17 can procure an abortion. Once again, Planned Parenthood and the ACLU fought the ballot initiative. The abortion giant and the ACLU have now filed suit to keep the new law from going into effect as scheduled on Dec. 14.Incredibly, the lawsuit alleges that parental consent violates the abortionists' due process rights and the minors' right to equal protection, because girls who choose to keep their babies are not required to tell their parents. The president of Planned Parenthood of the Great Northwest, Clover Simon, insists that "minors have the same protection of privacy as adult women" and that the law keeps the youngsters from exercising those adult rights. Not surprisingly, this move reflects Planned Parenthood's declaration of sexual rights which the abortion profiteer is using throughout the world to pressure governments to emancipate minors from the control and supervision of their parents in matters related to sexuality and abortion, and to silence churches, enabling child predators and abortion profiteers to exploit these young girls who are totally defenseless and vulnerable once their parents and their pastors are pushed out of the picture. Pray that Planned Parenthood will not prevail in its attempt to rob the children of Alaska of the counsel and protection of their parents. Alaska's Department of Law is currently reviewing the Planned Parenthood/ACLU complaint. You can contact the Alaska Department of Law via the attorney general's office to voice your concern about Planned Parenthood stripping parents' rights to protect their children: Attorney General Daniel S. Sullivan, P.O. The Portland Business Journal reports that the abortion mogul received $1.5 million in tax credits to help enable it to build its hub of death and destruction. The center is run by Planned Parenthood of Columbia Willamette, the infamous smut slinging group that runs the obscene and disgusting "Take Care Down There" website for teens, which contains obscenity that most parents would never begin to imagine would be thrust upon their children. Looking at Planned Parenthood's eugenic roots, its ongoing push to exterminate minorities, its full frontal assault on parental rights, its sexualization of our children from the very youngest ages, and the 5 million dead babies that are the fruit of its surgical and medical abortion business, it is clear that our tax dollars should be used to eliminate rather than propagate this blight on our society. We must continually pose the question to those in decision-making positions at all levels of government: Why in the world is an organization like Planned Parenthood being funded by our tax dollars?Take a stand today and let your local, state and national representatives know that funding Planned Parenthood is an investment in the destruction of our society. Act today to defund Planned Parenthood on every level. | Planned Parenthood aggressively lobbying for more government funding in poverty-ridden Africa International Planned Parenthood Federation's (IPPF) strategic plan includes moving into poverty-stricken, underdeveloped areas and pressuring the governments to adopt its agenda, eventually convincing them to pay for the destruction of their own people. The International Planned Parenthood Africa Region (IPPFAR) Strategic Plan acknowledges that in sub-Saharan Africa "the needs are so great and the poverty so pervasive" and that the "limited resources (are) stretched to breaking point." Then it incredibly exerts a mandate to "lobby governments to increase their contributions, and put similar pressure on local and international donors to support IPPFAR and MAs (Member Associations) programmes and activities." On a continent where the inhabitants lack the most basic food, clothing, housing and medical care, Planned Parenthood is pouring its resources into pressuring the local and national governments so that it can get its hands on whatever money may be available in those locales to promote its deadly agenda of "safe abortion," long-acting contraceptives, and targeting adolescents with its perverse sex education, ultimately depriving these poor people of their greatest resource and treasure: children. The evil plan is playing out now in Kenya, as one can see by reading IPPF's ad for a "resource mobilization advisor": The position is to support the strengthening of the resource mobilization strategy of the IPPF Africa Region. Specifically the position is to implement IPPFAR's strategic objective of supporting Member Associations (MAs) to decrease their dependency on core grants from IPPF by getting more funding from decentralized sources at national levels, including from national governments (emphasis added); and also increasing IPPF African Regional Office's capacities to increase its resource base to support regional initiatives. IPPFAR's 2009 annual report shows the impact of its aggressive five-year strategic plan.In 2009, over 6 million young people received SRHR (Sexual Reproductive Health Rights) services compared to less than half that number in 2007. 40 Member Associations were involved in abortion-related activitiesIn 2009, 1.9 million new "acceptors" received "family planning services" from IPPFAR's MAs.In 2009, IPPFAR continued its partnership with the African Union Commission to ensure the review of the implementation of the Maputo Plan of Action, ensuring that governments remain committed to its principles through adequate resource allocation and prioritization within national plans. IPPFAR also expanded advocacy to the Pan African Parliament, addressing the Plenary Session about "family planning" in Africa. The Pan African Parliament has since decided to make SRHR a priority for advocacy within National Parliaments. Planned Parenthood's commitment to the decimation of the poor, black population of Africa must be surpassed by our commitment to true development and protection of the poor and vulnerable. Today write a letter to the editor about the need to stop Planned Parenthood and its worldwide agenda to decimate poor, black populations. | Bringing Jesus to Planned Parenthood through Mary: Sioux City, Iowa Last month we told you about Mike Skaggs in Sioux City, Iowa, who has rallied the community and is working to open a pregnancy help center called Mary's Choice next door to the Planned Parenthood abortion mill -- the ultimate act of bringing Jesus to Planned Parenthood through Mary. According to Mike, the pro-life group closed on the building next to Planned Parenthood on Monday. They are ready to begin working on it, with the goal of opening by January 22, 2011.In addition, the Mary's Choice website is now up and running, and you can follow the progress of the project as it develops. Please keep this important project in your prayers. You can bet that Planned Parenthood is already feeling the heat.Another New Jersey Planned Parenthood to shut downPlanned Parenthood of Greater Northern New Jersey has announced it will close its Dover, NJ facility. This will be the second New Jersey Planned Parenthood facility to close in the wake of the loss of 7.5 million "family planning" dollars. Much of that money would have ended up in the pockets of Planned Parenthood if not for Governor Christie's steadfast opposition and veto of the funding. Earlier this month, the abortion giant closed its Cherry Hill, NJ facility. Both Cherry Hill and the Dover facility were contraceptive (chemical abortion) centers. The closure of these facilities was in keeping with Planned Parenthood's pattern of closing contraceptive facilities, while expanding its very lucrative medical and surgical abortion business. On Monday, legislators in New Jersey pushed through another bill to fund Planned Parenthood, which is also expected to be vetoed by Governor Christie.Congratulations to the people of Dover, NJ, who will no longer suffer the presence of Planned Parenthood in their community. | Another New Jersey Planned Parenthood to shut down Planned Parenthood of Greater Northern New Jersey has announced it will close its Dover, NJ facility.
