Now more than ever, our bishops and other Church leaders need our prayers and support. Obama's insurance mandates and other government programs are in a position to remove conscience protections and the rights of religious organizations to follow their teachings regarding contraception and abortion. We cannot allow this to happen. Today's commentary addresses this crisis and encourages us to make our voices heard.

I now more fully understand why ultrasound technicians are less likely to show abortion-minded women ultrasound imagery before their abortion. There is no way that a woman could in good conscience choose to kill her child after seeing his/her spine, legs, head, eyes, and mouth and after each body part is described to her in detail. There is no way she could justifiably continue to say that her child is just a blob, or a cancerous growth, or simply an extension of herself. Ultrasound imagery shatters the pro-choice perspective of pre-born children into a million pieces.

Thirty-One confirms donations, says it doesn't provide 'direct' Planned Parenthood funding
Bound4Life
Many comments have surfaced this week on the issue of Thirty-One,the company founded on biblical principles that donates to organizations that fund Planned Parenthood. We were one of several LIFE news outlets to report this. Many jumped to the defense of this company, which is based on the Proverbs 31 scripture about a godly woman. However, for some it's been hard to reconcile how a company based on the Bible and Christian principles could also be sending money to places that provide abortions. Today Thirty-One made an official statement confirming their donations after a series of denials that the blogs were true.

Abortion groups have released a "tool-kit" for activists to file "sexual rights" complaints against countries in the UN. International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF) and Sexual Rights Initiative (SRI), a coalition of organizations that advocate for sexual and reproductive rights at the United Nations, released the 2012 Sexual Rights toolkit to encourage advocates to document sexual and reproductive right abuses and submit reports to the UN through the Universal Periodic Review (UPR). IPPF and SRI have used the UPR process of the UN Human Rights Council to pressure countries to liberalize policies relating to sexual and reproductive rights. The UPR process was established in 2006 to review human rights conditions of all Member States every four years.
