Newt Gingrich to End Campaign Soon, Likely Endorse Romney
Republican presidential candidate Newt Gingrich will likely leave the campaign for the GOP nomination to face pro-abortion President Barack Obama next week after Mitt Romney has all but sewn up the nomination.

Senior campaign officials told various news outlets today that Gingrich plans to suspend his campaign next Tuesday, May 1, and will likely endorse Romney, the former Massachusetts governor who has received endorsements from several pro-life groups as he seeks to take on Obama this November. Gingrich huddled with senior advisers following the five primaries Romney won on Tuesday night and his victories made it impossible for Gingrich to secure the 1,144 delegates needed for the Republican nomination. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/04/25/newt-gingrich-to-end-campaign-soon-likely-endorse-romney/

Republican Party Backs Romney, Santorum May be Next
After Mitt Romney s sweep of all five primaries yesterday and with the Gingrich campaign signaling it will concede defeat next Tuesday, the Republican National Committee has announced it will formally back Romney for President.

RNC Chairman Reince Priebus said in a statement, Gov. Romney s strong performance and delegate count at this stage of the primary process has made him our party s presumptive nominee. In order to maximize our efforts I have directed my staff at the RNC to open lines of communication with the Romney campaign. We will ensure that our finance, political and communications teams are fully synchronized. I am excited that these two top-notch operations will start to integrate and present a unified team to defeat Barack Obama. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/04/25/republican-party-backs-romney-santorum-may-be-next/

Obama Continues Stacking Staff With Pro-Abortion Activists
A three-judge panel of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit held a hearing yesterday in the case seeking to challenge the executive order President Barack Obama handed down forcing taxpayers to finance embryonic stem cell research.

Obama forced funding of the research with public funds even though embryonic stem cells have yet to work successfully in animals because they cause tumors and face immune system rejection issues.

Sherley v. Sebelius is a lawsuit challenging an Obama administration policy that authorized the National Institutes of Health to fund additional research projects that destroy human embryos even though a federal law known as the Dickey/Wicker Amendment specifically prohibits such funding. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/04/25/obama-continues-stacking-staff-with-pro-abortion-activists/

10 Year-Old leaves Girl Scouts Over Planned Parenthood Ties
Grace Swanke sells cookies for a pro-life cause. This heroic 10-year-old girl was once a loyal Girl Scout cookie-seller in Boise, Idaho.

That changed one day after a family meeting with her parents, John and Mary Swanke. The meeting was called to discuss information the Swankes discovered about the Girl Scouts Organization s connection with Planned Parenthood. The connection, though denied by some, has stirred up frustration with people across the nation. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/04/25/10-year-old-leaves-girl-scouts-over-planned-parenthood-ties/

No Disease, Disability Can Take Away Our Human Dignity
I have been a pro-life advocate for as long as I can remember. In recent years, my passion for life has grown to include a deeper understanding that pro-life advocacy is about much more than abortion. Pro-life encompasses all life, a fact which became abundantly clear to me as I walked with my father in the culmination of his life s journey walked with him through the years of Alzheimer s disease.

Let me tell you a bit about my father, Jim, who passed away 3 years ago. Dad was and remains a hero. He was a helicopter pilot in the Korean War where he flew rescue missions that saved the lives of countless soldiers. He was a brilliant student and later a leader in his industry. He was a husband, father and grandfather beyond description. All who encountered him, whether in their personal lives or in business, knew immediately that they had met a master a truly honorable, kind, generous man of great depth and humility. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/04/25/no-disease-disability-can-take-away-our-human-dignity/

Miss America Contestant Told Not to Mention Pro-Life Views
In a new interview, Miss Delaware, Maria Cahill, who is a pro-life advocate, talks about how she was instructed to not mention anything about her pro-life views during the pageant.

Maria is the second oldest of seven children, and has always been passionate about the pro-life movement:

It came from growing up in a household where the value of life was respected no matter what the case. I became even more involved when I met women that were contemplating abortion. Seeing the pain in their eyes and hearing them talk about the fact that they believed that there was no other way out was heart wrenching; and honestly made me want to make a difference, she has said. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/04/25/miss-america-contestant-told-not-to-mention-pro-life-views/

Finding Healing After Abortion Nearly Took My Life
I had been looking forward to my post-abortion healing retreat weekend for months. Years, in fact. The grief and crushing guilt after my abortion 23 years ago nearly cost me my life. My check for the nominal fee was cashed, and the Herculean logistics of childcare and shuttling my three sons to and from activities while mommy was away was complete. As a firm non-believer in GPS, I wrote out my driving directions using the markers from the kids art table and set off on my 40-mile journey to closure.

Located atop a hill, surrounded by fields and trees, the retreat house was perfectly bucolic and remote. Including me, there were eight retreatants, seven staff members (including the lead facilitator, a nurse, and a certified counselor), and although it was conducted as an interdenominational Christian retreat a priest. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/04/25/finding-healing-after-abortion-nearly-took-my-life/

California Panel OKs Bill for Non-Doctors Doing Abortions
A California state legislative committee yesterday approved legislation that would allow non-physicians to do abortions. SB 1338 was voted out of the Senate Public Safety Committee on a party line vote with Democrats approving and Republicans voting no. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/04/25/california-panel-oks-bill-for-non-doctors-doing-abortions/
