Wikipedia May Redefine Term Pro-Life in Every Abortion Entry
Yesterday, official discussion ended in Wikipedia s effort to possibly redefine the abortion debate according to its contributors worldviews.

Wikipedia, which ranks 6th in the United States and globally as the most accessed website, is not known for its accuracy nor impartiality. From reporting people dead before their death (Ted Kennedy, Miley Cirus, Sinbad) to defaming the famous (Bill Gates, Rush Limbaugh, Fuzzy Zoeller) to contributors posing as authoritative figures and then being debunked (supposed professor of religion exposed as 24 year old college dropout) the online encyclopedia is a constant source of controversy.

Wikipedia s bias toward abortion is nothing new. Conservapedia (which itself reveals bias and incomplete information) lists a handful of examples that only scratch the surface of Wiki s glaringly evident pro-abortion advocacy. A more recent example of the absurdity of contributor-bias is Wikipedia s Maafa 21 entry. It asserts that the film has been praised by pro-life activists and condemned by historical scholars, pro-choice activists, and other writers http://www.lifenews.com/2012/04/24/wikipedia-redefines-term-pro-life-in-every-abortion-entry/

Protests Against Obama HHS Mandate Will Return June 8
More than 64,000 pro-life advocates joined more than 140 rallies across the nation in March to rally for religious freedom and against the controversial Obama HHS mandate that requires religious groups to pay for birth control and drugs that may cause abortions.

Those rallies will return June 8 as tens of thousands of pro-life advocates keep the Obama administration s disruption of religious freedom on the forefront of the 2012 election process.

We must continue to be that public voice of protest until this completely wrong and unjust government intrusion into the practice of religion and freedom of conscience is rescinded, says Monica Miller, a pro-life activist from Michigan who was one of the coordinators of the rallies. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/04/23/is-planned-parenthood-arranging-sex-selection-abortions/

Obama Admin Defends Forcing Tax-Funding of Embryonic Research
A three-judge panel of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit held a hearing yesterday in the case seeking to challenge the executive order President Barack Obama handed down forcing taxpayers to finance embryonic stem cell research.

Obama forced funding of the research with public funds even though embryonic stem cells have yet to work successfully in animals because they cause tumors and face immune system rejection issues.

Sherley v. Sebelius is a lawsuit challenging an Obama administration policy that authorized the National Institutes of Health to fund additional research projects that destroy human embryos even though a federal law known as the Dickey/Wicker Amendment specifically prohibits such funding. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/04/24/obama-admin-defends-forcing-tax-funding-of-embryonic-research/

Ohio House Defeats Effort to De-Fund Planned Parenthood
In a surprising turn of events, the Ohio House of Representatives defeated an effort by pro-life advocates to revoke taxpayer funding from the Planned Parenthood.

An amendment had been added to a bill to shut down taxpayer financing the of the nation s biggest abortion business but, today, the state House removed a pro-life amendment from Governor Kasich s Mid-Biennium Review legislation. The amendment would have defunded Planned Parenthood in Ohio but the House Finance Committee stripped the pro-life amendment, therefore terminating any opportunity to fast track this initiative.

The pro-life movement is deeply disappointed with this decision, but not disheartened, said Mike Gonidakis, president of Ohio Right to Life. The debate to defund the abortion industry has captivated the pro-life movement, not only in Ohio but also across the nation. This is not the last you will hear from Ohio Right to Life and the pro-life people of Ohio. If further vetting is what this amendment needs, we expect hearings on House Bill 298 to begin next week. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/04/24/ohio-house-defeats-effort-to-de-fund-planned-parenthood/

Court Asked Not to Dismiss Lawsuit Against HHS Mandate
Yesterday, a pro-life legal firm filed in District Court of the District of Columbia paperwork rejecting an effort by the Obama Administration to dismiss one of the lawsuits filed against it over the controversial HHS mandate.

The Obama Administration filed to dismiss the Belmont Abbey College case attempting to avoid key legal questions in the HHS mandate. In its motion to dismiss, the Obama administration argued that a series of promises and accommodations will take care of any legal issues in the future with regard to the mandate that requires almost all employers provide and pay for abortion-inducing drugs, contraception, and sterilization regardless of moral or religious objections to such services. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/04/24/court-asked-not-to-dismiss-lawsuit-against-hhs-mandate/

Arizona Senate Votes to De-Fund Planned Parenthood
The Arizona state Senate has voted to approve legislation de-funding Planned Parenthood, the nation s biggest abortion business that does more than one-fourth of all abortions in the United States.

The state Senate passed, 18-8, the Whole Woman s Health Funding Priority Act of Arizona (HB 2800) that will defund abortion providers such as Planned Parenthood of state family planning money. The bill is based on model legislation developed by the SBA List and the Alliance Defense Fund, and prioritizes family planning funds away from abortion-centered businesses like Planned Parenthood to entities that provide women with comprehensive health care. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/04/24/arizona-senate-votes-to-de-fund-planned-parenthood/

Republicans Can t Ignore Pro-Life Voters in 2012 Election
With Mitt Romney now the presumptive Republican nominee, the battle for the 2012 Presidency has begun in earnest. And, as is not uncommon, the outcome of this year s race is expected to hinge on that that slice of the electorate that doesn t pledge fealty to any political party, the so-called independent voters.

According to a recent article in the New York Times, many top Republican strategists are concerned that a growing focus on social issues by the Party s base has the potential to alienate Independents from the ticket this fall. Victory lies, they insist, with the candidate that makes the most compelling economic argument to Independents. Any distraction from this issue, they maintain, cedes political ground to the other side.

What these GOP insiders fail to understand, however, is that the future of the country is more important to grassroots conservatives than the future of the Republican Party, and that economic health and prosperity is not sustainable without a robust moral and cultural foundation. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/04/24/republicans-cant-ignore-pro-life-voters-in-2012-election/

A Pro-Life View During Sexual Assault Awareness Month
Ana Benderas recently shared with Live Action a video stating why she s pro-life, even when the child is the result of a rape. I, too, agree that a child should not be punished because of the crimes of his or her father. Rape is never the victim s fault, but it is no more so the child s fault. No matter the method of conception, the unborn are magnificent and potential people, all loved equally by God. And they should all be loved equally by us. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/04/24/a-pro-life-view-during-sexual-assault-awareness-month/

Chuck Colson s Life Story a Case Study in Redemption
Chuck Colson has passed from this earthly life into eternity. During his time here, Chuck experienced the pomp and prestige of being in President Nixon s inner circle. He was later forced to trade the comfort of the Oval office for a lonely jail cell due to his role in Watergate. He pled guilty to obstruction of justice and served seven months in prison. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/04/24/chuck-colsons-life-story-a-case-study-in-redemption/

Minnesota Senate OKs Ban on Dangerous Webcam Abortions
The Minnesota state Senate has approved a ban on dangerous webcam abortions when women are prevented by an abortion clinic from an in-person visit with a physician prior to getting the RU 486 abortion drug. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/04/24/minnesota-senate-oks-ban-on-dangerous-webcam-abortions/

U.S. Must Join Other Nations Banning Sex-Selection Abortion
Many countries around the world have banned sex selection. They have banned the abortion of a fetus biased on gender and/or they have banned the practice of using IVF and then preimplantation genetic diagnosis (PGD) to determine the sex of embryos. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/04/24/u-s-must-join-other-nations-banning-sex-selection-abortion/
