Ella Abortion Drug Now Available, Called Contraceptive Pill
The Ella abortion drug, which has been billed by its distributor, the FDA and abortion advocates as an improved emergency contraceptive pill, is now available across the United States via prescription.
Watson Pharmaceuticals, based in New Jersey, announced today that ella (ulipristal acetate) is now available for women to obtain and use up to five days following unprotected intercourse or contraceptive failure.

While the company maintain the drug works only as a contraceptive agent, five days is sufficient time for conception to take place and confer into existence the life of a unique human being who needs only a nine month pregnancy to be born.

“ella® is the first truly new emergency contraceptive option for U.S. women since 1999. It has a unique sustained efficacy profile and offers women an additional therapeutic option for preventing unintended pregnancy,” Wilkinson, Executive Vice President of Watson Global Brands, said in a statement LifeNews.com obtained.

“We are committed to making this innovative prescription-only emergency contraceptive option available to women as soon as possible and supporting the availability of ella in ways that emphasize education and access,” he said.

The drug company indicated the ella launch will be phased over the next several months and will include physician educational initiatives, advocacy outreach and educational websites for consumers. Full story at LifeNews.com

Judge Rules ObamaCare Constitutional Despite Abortion Funding
A federal judge in Virginia has issued a preliminary ruling in one of several lawsuits filed against ObamaCare, which pro-life groups opposed because it contained no provisions fully eliminating abortion funding.

The case, filed by Liberty University, a Christian college, is different from the main lawsuits state attorney general filed against the health care takeover law because it centers on the question of forcing taxpayers to fund abortions.

Judge Jude Norman Moon, a Clinton appointee, is now the second judge to issue a ruling siding with ObamaCare, though a judge in the main case in Florida has sided with opponents and all of the cases are expected to be combined into one that will go before the Supreme Court.

In his refusal of Liberty University’s claims, Judge Moon wrote that, since everyone will eventually make a decision one way or the other on purchasing health care, that such decisions constitute the kind of interstate commerce Congress has the authority to regulate by law. Details Emerge on LeRoy Carhart’s Late Abortions in Maryland
LeRoy Carhart, the infamous partial-birth and late-term abortion practitioner, is starting work on Monday at an abortion center in Maryland — expanding the business to do late and late-term abortions.
Carhart is a hired gun of sorts at the abortion business in Germantown, Maryland and will be working there and not operating the abortion business as his own or in a partnership with someone else.

“Basically he is looking for work because he is broke and can’t kill post viable babies in Nebraska, so he is hoping to score some money in Maryland,” Troy Newman of Operation Rescue told LifeNews.com this afternoon.

Newman says the National Abortion Federation “hates” Carhart and won’t refer women wanting abortions later in pregnancy to him. Instead, they tell women to travel across the country to Colorado to see Warren Hern or New Mexico to visit Curtis Boyd.

“Carhart has a long and troubled history within the abortion industry. The vicious feud between Vicky Saporta [the NAF president] and Carhart led NAF to stop referring abortion patients to Carthart’s abortion mill in Nebraska,” Newman explained. “This placed a huge financial burden on Carhart’s business and further strained his relationship with NAF.” Full story at LifeNews.com

Pro-Abortion Stalwart to Lead Democrats’ 2012 Senate Efforts
Senator Patty Murray, the pro-abortion stalwart from Washington state, will again lead the Democratic party’s efforts to keep its Senate majority in the 2012 elections.

Murray, who survived a tough re-election battle earlier this month, will chair the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee — the election arm of the Senate Democrats, who now hold a more narrow majority after the victory of several pro-life Republicans.

She has headed the campaign committee before — during the 2002 election cycle — when Democrats lost two seats under her helm.

The party had spent some time searching for someone to head up its re-election efforts in part because Senate Democrats will face an inordinately tough cycle with numerous incumbents facing the prospect of close election battles.

Some 21 Democrats face potential re-election campaigns including the two pro-abortion independents who caucus with Democrats — Joe Lieberman of Connecticut and Bernie Sanders of Vermont. Full story at LifeNews.com

Planned Parenthood in California Opens Abortion Center After Affiliate Dumped
Planned Parenthood has opened a new abortion center north of San Francisco after the national abortion business dumped one of its local affiliates following significant financial and management problems.

The regional affiliate of Planned Parenthood where teenager Holly Patterson died from using the dangerous RU 486 abortion drug first lost its affiliation with Planned Parenthood in early August.

The Planned Parenthood Federation of America board voted in early August to remove their trademark from the Planned Parenthood Golden Gate affiliate, which runs centers in San Francisco, Sonoma, Marin, Alameda and San Mateo counties.

“They were not meeting our standards for administrative and fiscal management,” said Karen Ruffato, VP of affiliate services, told the Bay Citizen newspaper.

Now, the Press Democrat newspaper indicates Planned Parenthood will resume operations at a refurbished clinic in Santa Rosa that will be operated by Concord-based Planned Parenthood Shasta Pacific that operates 30 centers in 13 counties in and around the Bay Area. Full story at LifeNews.com

Senate Republicans Legislative Block Could Affect Military Abortion Debate
Senate Republicans today unanimously agreed to use a filibuster to block any controversial legislation until a deal is worked out on extending tax cuts to Americans — a move that could affect abortion.

The Senate is currently under watch by those who are concerned about the Defense Department funding bill, the last version of which has an amendment that would allow abortions at taxpayer funded military base hospitals.

In a letter to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, all 42 Republicans said they would not agree to proceed on any legislation until the Senate has agreed to extend the tax cuts. Their decision means they would prevent Senate Democrats from voting on the Defense bill with or without the provision for abortions.

Senate GOP Leader Mitch McConnell explained the new statement of position in an interview this morning. Full story at LifeNews.com

Planned Parenthood in Michigan Buys Facility for New Abortion Center
Planned Parenthood of Mid and South Michigan has purchased a new building that it plans to use to house a new abortion facility in this suburb north of Detroit.

Planned Parenthood of Mid and South Michigan purchased the office building at 1625 N. Opdyke Road in Auburn Hills from Fidelity Bank. The commercial real estate company CoStar indicates the buy came in at $733,150, or about $43 per square foot.

“The buyer will occupy the property as a new clinic and office location. The facility is estimated to open in May/June of next year,” the firm said in a statement about the sale.

Mason L. Capitani and Garry Rogers of L. Mason Capitani represented the seller, and JP Champine, Carole Lieberman Rich and Barbara Eaton of Jones Lang LaSalle represented Planned Parenthood in its purchase of the building. Full story at LifeNews.com

Pro-Life Lawmakers Make Women Veterans Bill of Rights Abortion Neutral
The House of Representatives passed, on a voice vote Tuesday night, the Women Veterans Bill of Rights but not before pro-life lawmakers were able to attach an amendment to it to make it abortion neutral.

Pro-life lawmakers and groups have been concerned the rights enumerated in the bill could be used to declare a right to abortion and abortion treatment through the VA.

Lawmakers added a new section that ensures nothing in the bill can be construed to establish a right to certain services listed as exclusions, which includes abortion and in-vitro fertilization.

The bill approved by the House contains new language requested by Rep. Chris Smith, the chairman of the Congressional Pro-Life Caucus, which ensures nothing in the bill can be construed to establish a right to abortion. Full story at LifeNews.com

British Govt Wants Easier Access to Abortion, Pro-Life Group Grumbles
Abortion is already readily available in the United Kingdom, but the British government has published a new paper saying it should be more widespread.

In response, a leading pro-life group is intensifying its campaign to inform women and physicians about the dangers of abortion.

The Department of Health’s white paper, “Healthy Lives, Healthy People”, published today, proposes “easy access” to abortion.

“We will work towards an integrated model of service delivery to allow easy access to confidential, non-judgmental sexual health services (including for sexually transmitted infections, contraception, abortion, health promotion and prevention),” the government says in section 3.43 of the paper. Debunking the Lie: We Need to Reduce the Need for Abortion
I was reading an article this morning about the Personhood Amendment in Florida and how vehemently opposed Planned Parenthood is to this legislation. The article was full of ridiculous statements and lies, as is anything that favors or quotes Planned Parenthood.

I found it funny that Planned Parenthood actually helped expose their own lies about birth control by admitting that the Personhood Amendment would outlaw chemical birth control. If this is true then the pro-life claim that chemical birth control often destroys a human person in the form of a zygote before implantation must also be true.

I enjoyed Planned Parenthood confirming this fact, as well as labeling me an “anti-choice extremist”. If the choice that I am “anti” is the choice of killing a baby, then I am as extreme as they come. Full story at LifeNews.com.

Scotland Assisted Suicide Bill Defeated a Second Time
A bill that would make Scotland the first part of the United Kingdom to legalize assisted suicide has been defeated a second time.

Margo MacDonald, an Independent Lothians MSP, lost her first effort in November to get the measure out of committee and she lost a vote today in the full legislature, Holyrood.

Although some assisted suicide backers claimed a majority of people favor the controversial End of Life Assistance Bill, MSPs at Holyrood defeated the measure on a 16-85 vote. Lawmakers were allowed a free vote without having to conform to the position of their respective political parties.

MacDonald, a former Scottish National Party MP who has Parkinson’s disease, talked about the defeat afterwards. Full story at LifeNews.com.
