WASHINGTON, DC - The Catholic bishop of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, has taken actionagainst Catholic insurance agency Avera Health Plans because the company chose to cover contraception so that it would be in compliance with Obamacare. Bishop Paul Swain said the action of Avera Health Plans has created "public scandal," because its practices are "inconsistent with Church teaching." Judie Brown, president of American Life League, the oldest Catholic prolife group in the nation, issued this statement:
"This nation's moral decline is astounding not only because it has been a relatively swift slide, but more importantly because Catholics have taken leading roles in bringing about the decline. Vice President. Biden has supported every major effort to protect and expand abortion in America. Nancy Pelosi, Catholic congresswoman, has worked doggedly to expand abortion, contraception, sterilization, and militant homosexual "rights" in America.
The actions of others like Ted Kennedy, Kathleen Sebelius and Andrew Cuomo are equally egregious and yet there has been silence from the Bishops. Had their Bishops had the mettle to take a public stand to correct these anti-Catholic "Catholics" then, Bishop Paul Swain would not have to rebuke the insurance provider to the Diocese of Sioux Falls because Obamacare would never have come to pass in its current form.
