'October Baby': The little movie that could
By Doug Bean

When brothers Jon and Andrew "Andy" Erwin decided, several years ago, to make a motion picture about an abortion survivor, as seen through the victim's eyes, they had no idea where the journey would lead. Though the Dove Award-winning music video directors/producers had extensive experience in the entertainment industry, they had never made a feature-length film, much less one that tackled a sensitive topic. In fact, the pro-life Erwins had just learned that abortion survivors actually existed. After they heard saline-abortion survivor Gianna Jessen share her story and her joy, their creative minds went to work. A documentary, they thought, would be too heartrending to watch, and they wondered what might happen if, instead, they made the story entertaining.

Planned Parenthood secretly breaks ground on late-term abortion clinic next to adoption center
LifeSiteNews
Some Ft. Worth residents believe that this is what happens when Planned Parenthood can't get their way in Dallas. Others think the location was chosen for other reasons. No matter the strategy, one thing is certain: Planned Parenthood is building a late-term abortion clinic in Ft. Worth - next to a nationally recognized adoption agency.

Court's 'Pontius Pilate' move to open abortion challenge?
World Net Daily
A "bizarre" and unexplained state court decision that was contrary to normal procedures may have given pro-life supporters the perfect storm that could prompt the United States Supreme Court to re-visit the case that legalized abortion in the first place. Citizens of Oklahoma were in the process of gathering signatures to place a personhood amendment on the ballot for this November's elections, when the proposal was challenged by abortion advocates. In Oklahoma and many states with initiative processes, groups and individuals opposed to a proposed initiative are allowed to challenge the proposal. The ACLU and Center for Reproductive Rights challenged Oklahoma's plan, arguing that the declarative statement in the amendment violated federal constitutional law. In what Personhood USA called "a rare move against the people of Oklahoma," the state Supreme Court sided with pro-abortion groups and ruled on the constitutionality of the amendment before it was passed by the voters.

On 'brain death,' a response to a rebuttal
CatholicCulture.org
Last month, when I questioned whether "brain death" is a valid justification for removing vital organs for transplant, many readers expressed a keen interest in the debate. Soon thereafter I posted a rebuttal by one reader, Dr. Michael DiPietro, who argued strenuously in favor of using the "brain death" standard. That article in turn drew a strong reaction from Dr. Paul Bryne, the president of the Life Guardian Foundation, who has been among the leading critics of the "brain death" standard. In the interest of continuing a lively debate, we offer herewith Dr. Bryne's argument.
