Possible Deal May Send Chen Guangcheng to the United States
Chen Guangcheng, the Chinese forced abortion opponent, is waiting at the U.S. Embassy for the Obama administration and Chinese officials to determine his fate and a deal may be struck allowing him to go to the United States.

An AFP report this afternoon indicates U.S. officials and Chinese authorities are working on a deal that could have the campaigner against forced abortion and sterilizations return to the United States with his family and he fled years of house arrest.

Bob Fu, of ChinaAid, an American group that has worked closely with Chen and his supporters in China, said his understanding is that both China and the U.S. want to end negotiations quickly over Chen so they can focus on economic talks that were planned to begin Thursday, before Chen s escape from the clutches of family planning officials. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/05/01/possible-deal-may-send-chen-guangcheng-to-the-united-states/

Chen Guangcheng s Documents Show Women Aborted at Nine Months
As the world watches the plight of Chen Guangcheng and wonders whether President Barack Obama will have the United States offer him long-term diplomatic protection, documents Chen Guangcheng compiled place the focus squarely on why China subjected him to years of house arrest: brutal forced abortions.

Reggie Littlejohn, President of Women s Rights Without Frontiers, has released a compendium of Chen Guangcheng s field notes about forced abortion and sterilization in China and the stories the blind attorney compiled are shocking, even for those familiar with the forced abortion abuses that take place as a result of China s one-child policy. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/05/01/chen-guangchengs-documents-show-women-aborted-at-nine-months/

Texas Wins Stay to Keep De-Funding Planned Parenthood
Texas has won a stay from a federal appeals court to continue de-funding Planned Parenthood while the lawsuit the abortion business filed to keep its taxpayer funding stream going continues in court.

As LifeNews reported yesterday, a federal judge ruled against Texas in its attempt to revoke taxpayer funding for the Planned Parenthood abortion business through its statewide family planning and women s health program. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/05/01/texas-wins-stay-to-keep-de-funding-planned-parenthood/

Human Rights Campaigner Challenges Obama to Protect Chen
Reggie Littlejohn is one of the leading human rights campaigners for women and children in China who are victimized by forced abortions and infanticides as a result of the one child policy. In a new open letter to President Barack Obama, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and China Ambassador Locke, Littlejohn challenges them to offer full diplomatic protection for Chen Guangcheng.

Chen, a blind attorney, had been in captivity at his home after spending years in prison after he was convicted on trumped-up charges engineered by family planning and Communist Party officials for retaliation against his exposing a massive brutal campaign in his local county involving the victimization of thousands in forced abortions and sterilizations. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/05/01/human-rights-campaigner-challenges-obama-to-protect-chen/

Country Star Rodney Atkins Mom Chose Adoption Over Abortion
In 2006, Rodney Atkins was named Top New Male Vocalist by the Academy of Country Music. Several of his most popular songs If You re Going Through Hell, Cleaning This Gun, These Are My People, and It s America have topped country music charts. Just last year, Atkins released his fastest-rising single yet, Take a Back Road.

Many would say that Atkins has a natural gift with the guitar. As his CMT biography puts it, he didn t even get his first guitar until one Christmas in high school. Regardless of the late start, he took to the instrument instantly and was soon playing anywhere he could around his Cumberland Gap, Tennessee, home. Since he discovered his talent, Rodney Atkins has been giving back to the world and to country music-lovers everywhere. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/05/01/country-star-rodney-atkins-mom-chose-adoption-over-abortion/

New Congressional Bill Stops Abortion Funding in Obamcare
One of the biggest reasons pro-life advocates oppose Obamacare is the abortion funding the national health care law mandates. Republicans in Congress are wanting to do something about it and have floated new legislation to prevent such funding in the state exchanges Obamacare creates.

More than 60 GOP members of the House have introduced the Stop Abortion Funding in Multi-state Exchange Plans (SAFE) Act, led by pro-life Rep. Todd Akin, a Missouri Republican. The legislation would block these health plans from offering elective abortions keeping the law consistent with the Hyde Amendment after Democrats, when passing Obamacare, defeated an amendment to stop abortion funding. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/05/01/new-congressional-bill-stops-abortion-funding-in-obamcare/

Exposing Obama s False Claims About a War on Women
President Barack Obama and his pro-abortion allies at Planned Parenthood are falsely claiming that pro-life advocates are launching a war on women. This is a vicious lie. There is a war on women going on but it s an offensive launched by the abortion industry.

Pro-abortion forces are trying to expand abortion through Obama s health care plan. Under the plan, abortions would skyrocket it would be the largest expansion of abortion since Roe versus Wade. This is because the federal health care law includes public funding of abortion and we know from experience that when the government funds abortion, the abortion rate increases dramatically. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/05/01/exposing-obamas-false-claims-about-a-war-on-women/

Georgia Gov. Deal Signs Fetal-Pain-Based Abortion Ban
Governor Nathan Deal of Georgia delighted pro-life advocates today by signing a law that would ban abortions after 20 weeks of pregnancy based on the scientific evidence showing unborn children feel pain at least at that point in development, if not sooner. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/05/01/georgia-gov-deal-signs-fetal-pain-based-abortion-ban/

Bowling for Abortions: The New Fundraising Scheme
After all we ve seen and heard regarding abortion in the 21st century all the justifications for gender-selective abortions, for killing preborn handicapped babies, and even for having a window of time in which it s acceptable to kill children after birth proponents of the culture of death still surprise many people from time to time. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/05/01/bowling-for-abortions-the-new-fundraising-scheme/

Alabama Abortion Clinic Loses Desperate Bid to Stay Open
An Alabama abortion facility has failed in its attempt to transfer ownership in order to avoid an impending order from the state health department that it close soon after three women were injured in botched abortions in recent months. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/04/30/alabama-abortion-clinic-loses-desperate-bid-to-stay-open/

Scotland MSP to Again Push Legalizing Assisted Suicide
Today is the last day to respond to Margo Macdonald s consultation on assisted suicide. The MSP is planning to bring another bill to the Scottish Parliament in an attempt to legalise assisted suicide just over a year after her last similar bill was overwhelmingly defeated by 85 votes to 16. Essentially this is a rerun of the same flawed and tired arguments. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/05/01/scotland-msp-to-again-push-legalizing-assisted-suicide/

Embryonic Stem Cell Researcher Resigns, Fabricated Experiment
More on the crises of competence and character (as I call it) that has infected science along with general society as the West increasingly turns its back on what made it great and heads in a decidedly decadent direction. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/05/01/embryonic-stem-cell-researcher-resigns-fabricated-experiment/

Georgia Bans Assisted Suicide After Final Exit Network Flouted Law
Governor Nathan Deal today signed a new bill banning assisted suicides into law after members of the pro-euthanasia Final Exit Network flouted it. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/05/01/georgia-bans-assisted-suicide-after-final-exit-network-flouted-law/

Oklahoma Court: Personhood Amendment Unconstitutional
Yesterday, the highest court in Oklahoma ruled that the personhood amendment backers hoped to get on the state ballot is unconstitutional. The court blocked it, saying it was void on its face because the nation s highest court has already ruled on the issue of abortion. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/05/01/oklahoma-court-personhood-amendment-unconstitutional/
