| | Dear Pro-Life Friend, Will you join the ranks of men and women through history who have taken risks to save the lives of others? In one week, our Justice Riders depart to defend preborn children on campuses in the state of Florida, and we hope you'll support them prayerfully and financially. As we prepare to depart, we are reminded of those whose examples we seek to follow, such as two women who used the abilities God had given them to enter unjust situations and rescue people: Harriet Tubman and Irena Sendler. Harriet Tubman escaped from slavery, but returned to slave country many times in order to rescue others from the plantation system. She is the most famous Underground Railroad conductor, and in this manner saved over 60 people from the bondage of slavery and oppression. The first woman to lead an armed expedition in the Civil War, Harriet also guided the Combahee River Raid, liberating over 700 South Carolina slaves. Irena Sendler, a Polish nurse and social worker during World War II, smuggled nearly 2,500 Jewish children from the Warsaw ghetto and into safe homes and religious establishments. Though Irena was tortured and sentenced to death by the Gestapo, she refused to share the names and addresses of the families sheltering the Jewish children she had rescued. After her freedom was miraculously secured and the war ended, Irena took her jar of names and reunited as many children as possible with their families.
Video: Watch Irena's revelation about saving children The only way for us to save America's preborn children is remove them from our nation's relativistic rhetoric. We must use our conversation and images to take preborn children away from the morally subjective claims of our time, recognizing their humanity and the inherent value of their lives. Harriet Tubman once said, "I freed thousands of slaves, and could have freed thousands more, if they had known they were slaves.” We seek not only to save preborn children, but also to touch the lives of the adults we will encounter. Those we will reach out to are unaware that they are enslaved to the cultural mindset of this era. We cannot save children until we change people's hearts. Please pray for the preborn whose lives hang in the balance, for those who will relive painful memories when they see our signs in Florida, for those who will struggle to understand, and for those who will fight our message.
