When we repeatedly devalue human beings, we learn to be cold and unfeeling about their importance and worth. When we hasten death, or care more about animals, we lose sight of the face of God. Each and every human being deserves respect and deserves to live the life God intended. It is our job to preserve that gift of life, not cruelly snuff it out.
