Outreach Video: “What about rape?”

Passerby: "So she's gotta have the baby, too?"
Columbus, OH – July 8, 2014 – If a woman has been raped, isn't abortion the compassionate choice? This is a question our team has been asked countless times on the streets and on campus. Watch our response below!
In the clip, Created Equal intern Gabriel asks the passerby if he would permit a mother to kill her child conceived in rape after birth. When he responds negatively, Gabriel asks why he'd permit the killing of the same child before birth but not after.
The passerby simply responds, "'Cause it's not born."
This distinction of born versus preborn is no less arbitrary than distinctions of white versus black or Jew versus Aryan. With these labels, humans justify brutality upon their neighbors. Correcting this prejudice is the mission of our team on the street.
