Mitt Romney Repeats Call for Overturning Roe v. Wade
In a Monday night interview with ABC s World News with Diane Sawyer, likely Republican nominee Mitt Romney again repeated his call for overturning the Roe v. Wade decision that has resulted in more than 55 million abortions.
During the interview, Sawyer, with a scowling look on her face, asked Romney what he would tell women about repealing Roe and taking away their so-called right to have an abortion that Sawyer said they have supposedly enjoyed for 40 years. Romney responded saying he wants the Supreme Court to reverse the decision and, again allow states the opportunity to protect women and unborn children from abortions.
I would love the Supreme Court to say, Let s send this back to the states, he said. Rather than having a federal mandate through Roe v. Wade, let the states again consider this issue state by state.
But I m pro-life, that s my view. I believe there is a sanctity of human life, Romney added. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/04/17/mitt-romney-repeats-call-for-overturning-roe-v-wade/
2012: Legislatures Consider 472 Pro-Life Bills, Pass 75
After a year in which state legislatures across the country approved a record number of pro-life bills to stop abortions and protect women and unborn children, 2012 is shaping up to be banner year in which more pro-life legislation is approved than typical for an election cycle.
The Guttmacher Institute, the pro-abortion former research arm of Planed Parenthood which still receives funding from the abortion business issued a new report complaining about the extensive number of pro-life bills considered and approved already in state legislatures this year. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/04/17/2012-legislatures-consider-472-pro-life-bills-pass-75/
Legislator Tells Pro-Life Rally: I murdered my first child.
A pro-life state legislator surprised a pro-life rally in Alabama with a stark admission about his role in the abortion of his own child.
According to the local Fox television station:
The crowd attending the annual Pro-Life Legislative Day in Montgomery on Thursday got a surprise when Republican Rep. Ed Henry of Hartselle talked publicly for the first time about going with his pregnant girlfriend to have an abortion. I murdered my first child, the freshman legislator told the stunned crowd. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/04/17/legislator-tells-pro-life-rally-i-murdered-my-first-child/
Florida Group: Romney is the Pro-Life Candidate vs. Obama
During the last two weeks, pro-life groups across the country have lined up behind Mitt Romney, the likely Republican nominee who appears as if he will represent the GOP against pro-abortion President Barack Obama.
Florida Right to Life is the latest pro-life organization to issue an endorsement for Romney, saying the general election matchup between Romney and Obama pits a pro-life candidate against an incumbent president whose pro-abortion record is second to none.
Florida Right to Life Political Action Committee is proud to join its pro-life allies today in its endorsement of Mitt Romney for President, the group announced. Mitt Romney s stated positions on pro-life issues reflect the ongoing efforts of our work, which are to bar the use of federal funds for abortions, reverse Roe v. Wade, prohibit federal funding for organizations which perform abortions and repeal ObamaCare. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/04/17/florida-group-romney-is-the-pro-life-candidate-vs-obama/
Planned Parenthood Violating Abortion Drug Laws in New Hampshire
Planned Parenthood of Northern New England is distributing abortion and other drugs at its six New Hampshire clinics in violation of state law, according to a complaint filed with the New Hampshire Board of Pharmacy Tuesday.
Alliance Defense Fund allied attorney Michael Tierney filed the complaint on behalf of New Hampshire Right to Life.
No matter where a person stands on abortion, everyone should agree that Planned Parenthood has to play by the same rules as everyone else, said Tierney, an attorney with the Manchester firm of Wadleigh, Starr & Peters, PLLC. In this case, that means it must obey state laws that say only licensed pharmacists may distribute prescription drugs when a clinic is not under contract with the New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/04/17/planned-parenthood-violating-abortion-drug-laws-in-new-hampshire/
Ohio House to Consider Bill to Defund Planned Parenthood
Today, the Ohio House of Representatives adopted an amendment to cut funding from abortion businesses such as Planned Parenthood, the largest in the U.S. that does more than 25 percent of all abortions. The state House will vote on the bill soon.
Led by pro-life Representatives Kristina Roegner, Cliff Rosenberger and Chairman Ron Amstutz, the legislative amendment embraces the critical need to support low-income women and their children in order to receive health care.
Officials with the state s leading pro-life group say the bill is needed to ensure taxpayer dollars support legitimate medical and reproductive care for women without funding an abortion company. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/04/17/ohio-house-passes-bill-to-defund-planned-parenthood/
Romney Gets Backing From Rhode Island Pro-Life Group
Mitt Romney has received the support of a pro-life organization in Rhode island as more pro-life groups line up behind the candidate who appears most likely to take on pro-abortion President Barack Obama.
The Rhode Island State Right to Life Committee has joined its parent group, the National Right to Life Committee, in announcing its endorsement of Governor Mitt Romney for President of the United States.
Never has there been a more important presidential election for the pro-life movement, Rhode Island RTL director Barth Bracy said. Barack Obama has been the most pro-abortion president in our nation s history. He has pursued, and continues to pursue, a radical abortion agenda, and recently, an unprecedented assault on religious liberty and rights of conscience. Knowing that this critical election will determine the fate of unborn children for decades to come, we call upon all pro-life citizens to unite behind Governor Mitt Romney. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/04/17/romney-gets-backing-from-rhode-island-pro-life-group/
Mississippi Genius: Non-Abortion Ban May Ban Abortions
The state of Mississippi is down to one abortion facility and the governor signed a bill yesterday that exemplifies the kind of genius seen nowadays in pro-life legislation. A measure that protects women from unscrupulous abortion practitioners who have no ability to admit them to a hospital in cases of botched abortions may be the ticket to essentially shutting down the last remaining abortion clinic in the state. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/04/17/mississippi-genius-non-abortion-ban-may-ban-abortions/

I Wish He d Never Been Born : The Misguided View of Abortion
Emily Rapp is a writer, a devoted mother, and a left-leg amputee who was once a poster child for the March of Dimes. Her son Ronan is living with Tay-Sachs, a devastating rare genetic disease. I first heard of Emily in a disheartening Time magazine article titled Why a Mother would have aborted her son. . http://www.lifenews.com/2012/04/17/i-wish-hed-never-been-born-the-misguided-view-of-abortion/

A recent case in a Pennsylvania court held the lives of thirteen little human embryos in its hand. After she was diagnosed with breast cancer, Andrea Lynn Reiss and her husband Bret Howard Reber underwent IVF. The doctors told Ms. Reiss that she would be unfertile after the cancer treatment and so they wanted insurance against future infertility and they created 13 embryos and froze them. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/04/17/court-issues-rare-ruling-against-destroying-human-embryos/
Reflecting on the Murder-Suicides of the Snellings
The closing prayer of the Divine Mercy Chaplet was on my mind when I read about Charles D. Snelling and his wife Adrienne. The Snellings were deeply devoted to each other for over sixty years of marriage. They were blessed with five children and eleven grandchildren. They were both well educated and came from socially prominent families. Yet on March 29, 2012, Charles Snelling killed his wife and then took his own life. According to the Washington Post, Adrienne Snelling had Alzheimer s disease and did not want to live after all hope of a good life was over.. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/04/17/reflecting-on-the-murder-suicides-of-the-snellings/
