Playboy,
Penthouse and other sex-themed magazines will no longer be sold at Army
and Air Force exchanges _ a move described by the stores' operators as a
business decision based on falling sales, and not a result of recent
pressure from anti-pornography activists.

But
what about the larger issue of the ongoing problems that the mainstream
news media have had covering abortion and other social issues related
to religion? Is it worth noting here, for instance, the very odd lack of
coverage of Planned Parenthood’s recent settlement over fraud
allegations?

I
hate to be the mom with the three little kids to write a post about
Natural Family Planning because I'm sure to get the "What do you call
people that practice NFP? Parents!" joke which is stale and not funny.
But I also don't want you to think I'm some bizarro baby machine that
resents her life deep down. We're just practicing Catholics that realize
that we've been blessed with three healthy children and hope to have
more.

My
husband and I tried to conceive for eight months, including one
operation on my ovaries and three months of medicated cycles. This baby
was a dream come true. I am a worrier anyway, and it was a constant
effort to think positively through the anxiety-inducing first trimester.

It
sounds like a Third World problem: Hospitals are rationing, bartering
and hoarding critical nutrients that premature infants need to survive.
But it's a problem that's happening in the Washington area and in other
major cities across the country.

For
years, MSNBC has made it clear where it stands on the issue of abortion
in America: on the side of promoting abortion rights advocates against
any restriction or regulation on the taking of unborn life.
