The Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals in Richmond, Virginia, issued an order to stay the mandate until the U.S. Supreme Court rules on a petition for cert to be filed with the High Court by Liberty Counsel, on behalf of Liberty University and two private individuals.
The mandate went into effect last year on August 1 and the very minimal religious protections were set to go into effect August 1, but they will be implemented and enforcement will take place starting on January 1. http://www.lifenews.com/2013/
A new Rasmussen Reports poll has Republican voters nationally favoring pro-life New Jersey Governor Chris Christie and pro-life Florida Sen. Marco Rubio for the GOP nomination in 2016.
The 2016 presidential election is vitally important for pro-life advocates as it is an opportunity to return a pro-life president to the White House who could appointment members of the Supreme Court who could overturn Roe v. Wade, who could put pro-life policies back in place and sign pro-life laws to stop abortions. http://www.lifenews.com/2013/
Dear Wendy Davis,
As a firefighter and medic, Ive pretty much seen it all. Seeing these emergencies and catastrophes in the field bring emotions also. But the biggest emotional roller coaster of my life came when I heard that I was conceived during a despicable act.
I never thought I would hear the words conceived in rape when I reconnected with my birthmother a few years ago. Sitting in her living room and holding my husbands hand, we heard the horrible details of a dark night back in 1972. http://www.lifenews.com/2013/
Earlier this summer, And Then There Were None, the ministry Abby Johnson began to reach out to abortion clinic workers, held a retreat for former workers who have escaped the clutches of the abortion industry.
ATTWN provides a number of resources for former workers, and clearly one of the services these workers need the most is help to repair the spiritual and emotional damage and consequences from having to assist with abortions. http://www.lifenews.com/2013/
Officials responded yesterday to a call from Baylor University Medical Center, where authorities discovered the body of a newborn baby in a bathroom area of the emergency room.
Life Dynamics has released a new video that, in part, features an interview with a former abortion patient of Douglas Karpen, considered the second Kermit Gosnell because he has killed babies born alive after abortions.
Throughout the month of August, members of Congress are back in their districts on recess. During this time, especially in odd years without a November election posing an immediate worry, Representatives and Senators hold town halls and meetings with their constituents. http://www.lifenews.com/2013/
Dogs Found Gnawing Body of an Abandoned Newborn Girl in India
Officials in India found straw dogs gnawking on the body of an abandoned newborn baby girl who was abandoned on the campus of a medical college. http://www.lifenews.com/2013/
Americans United for Life today filed its 15th amicus curiae brief in a legal challenge to Obamacares HHS mandate, in defense of freedom of conscience. http://www.lifenews.com/2013/
Ignore Them and Hide the Evidence: How Pro-Choicers Respond to Women Abortion Injures
On Tuesday, July 30, we got a call from Andrew S., who regularly sidewalk counsels outside Albany Medical Surgical Center, an abortion facility operated by Family Planning Associates on Chicagos Northwest Side, about a mile from the Pro-Life Action Leagues office. http://www.lifenews.com/2013/
Secular Pro-Life condemns a recent comment by comedian John Oliver, who is currently standing in for Jon Stewart on The Daily Show. Oliver implied that abortion restrictions are motivated solely by religion and not by secular concern for the human right to life. http://www.lifenews.com/2013/

I glanced at the headline, filed it away to come back the next day (July 31), and then promptly forgot about New abortion poll oversimplifies complex issue, UCSF professor says. I read the story this afternoon and was, frankly, shocked by the candor of the responses from Tracy Weitz, a sociologist and an associate professor of obstetrics, gynecology and reproductive sciences at the University of California, San Francisco. http://www.lifenews.com/2013/
In a severe blow to religious freedom, the Attorney General of Wisconsin stated in court documents that the state may force Catholic hospital to offer admitting privileges to abortionists. http://www.lifenews.com/2013/
Earlier this week, online magazine The Nation published a story blissfully anticipating (on the basis of some highly questionable premises) a time when the District of Columbia would be allowed to fund abortions for low-income women. http://www.lifenews.com/2013/
One day after Operation Rescue filed a complaint with the Federal Election Commission over $37,000 in missing Trust Women PAC funds and supplied evidence it is improperly funding a for-profit abortion business in Wichita, Kansas, the FEC issued two more deficiency letters to the PAC, both corroborating some allegations made in Operation Rescues complaint. http://www.lifenews.com/2013/
Planned Parenthoods has its guns aimed squarely at Hispanic teens, as it continues its latest foray into eugenic targeting via an unbelievably salacious novella featuring an all-Latino/Latina cast. http://www.lifenews.com/2013/
