President Barack Obama has named sixteen recipients of the Presidential Medal of Freedom, which is the nations highest civilian honor. Abortion activist Gloria Steinem will be one of the recipients.
The Presidential Medal of Freedom is presented to individuals who have made especially meritorious contributions to the security or national interests of the United States, to world peace, or to cultural or other significant public or private endeavors, and Obama apparently believes dedicating ones life to promoting abortion is a part of that list. http://www.lifenews.com/2013/
Oregon rations healthcare to Medicaid recipients. Terminal cancer patients are denied chemotherapy to extend lifeand now the Oregon rationing board wants to go deeper into the weeds.
From Hope Landsems Wall Street Journal blog: Liberal states often preview health-care central planning before the same regulations go national, which ought to make an Oregon cost-control commission especially scary. On Thursday a state board could change Oregons Medicaid program to deny costly care to poor patients who need it most. http://www.lifenews.com/2013/
An abortion center thats open seven days a week in Florida is giving away coupons to poor women in a crisis pregnancy so they can save money on their abortions!
The medical establishment is all on board for cost cutting in health care. Thats a good goal, of course. But how that is done really matters ethically.
Heres the danger: Imposing a dual mandate upon doctorscost cutting and patient carecould easily place physicians in a hopeless conflict of interest situation. Spend too much and the bureaucrats will throw brickbats. Save money at the expense of patient welfare and be sued for malpractice, while losing the trust of patients. http://www.lifenews.com/2013/
On Monday, Texas state Senator Wendy Davis made the now infamous statement that the reason why a majority of women support limits on late-term abortion is that they dont really understand the landscape of whats happening in that arena today.
Sen. Davis, allow us to share a different interpretation of the poll results. http://www.lifenews.com/2013/
Reading some of the hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of posts about late abortions, it was not until recently that it struck me what a fundamental oversight Id been guilty of.
Probably because Id already read a preposterous rewriting of the history of abortion in the United States, by the time I sat down this afternoon to peruse two diatribes against the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act, I was even less in a mood to suffer fools gladly than usual.
Lila Rose and Live Action are calling out the media for doing what has become a shameful daily, and even hourly, occurrencelying. http://www.lifenews.com/2013/
My Unborn Baby Was a Human Being Before Birth and is a Human Being Now
It was a quiet Sunday evening and my husband and I were winding down for the night to go to bed. We had contemplated going out to see a movie at the theater but decided against it. In hindsight, I am relieved we made that decision. Thats because my water broke that night. http://www.lifenews.com/2013/
I miscarried my first child less than a month ago, so I see babies or lack of babies everywhere. http://www.lifenews.com/2013/
Planned Parenthood Colorado Claims No Taxpayer Funding, Got $10 Million
In announcing the closure of two Colorado centers yesterday, the Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains abortion business claimed it does not receive taxpayer funds. That claim is false. http://www.lifenews.com/2013/
LifeNews has been a fan of Noah and his Dad (Rick Smith) since he first started his web site several years ago. Shortly after Noah was born with Down Syndrome Rick, an Idea Shaper and Storyteller, learned that 92% of children who are diagnosed prenatally with Down syndrome are aborted. http://www.lifenews.com/2013/

Loyola Marymount University (LMU) has told The Cardinal Newman Society that it will drop its employee insurance coverage of abortion but retain its coverage of contraceptives, following protests from a faithful Catholic professor and just prior to publication of a Newman Society report revealing LMUs benefits plan. http://www.lifenews.com/2013/
