Dear Friends for Life,
Tax Payer Funding of Abortion/Planned Parenthood
While Planned Parenthood was not successful in their legislative policy priorities, they will continue to receive more than $20 million each year from Washington taxpayers. While Planned Parenthood does not explicitly receive money in the budget, "family planning" is the term the government uses to describe the area where they allocate our tax dollars to pay for abortion and contraception.
During the next biennium, Washington State will spend 21.9 million on "family planning." An additional $32.9 million of federal funds will be spent on family planning. This means that despite entering the session with a deficit of $1.1 billion, the legislature decided that paying for people's birth control and abortions was simply too high a priority to be reduced.
In 2012, Washington State spent $6.2 million on abortion funding and the new budget continues taxpayer funding of abortion. Is this the heartbeat of American Democracy?
God Bless,
Jerry Novotny, OMI

positive seeds Chloe has planted in just 10 years with her ABILITIES.
***************************** ***********
ITEM #1: The phony inevitability of "same-sex marriage"
Supporters of marriage need to stop meekly accepting the claims of the other side as gospel truth.
****************************** **********
ITEM #2: Journal Publishes Study on Psychological Consequences of Abortion
This study analyzed all scientific trials published since 1995, that evaluated the psychological and psychiatric health of women who had had an abortion, compared with those who had either given birth to a baby or those who had had a miscarriage. The authors retrieved 30 studies that took into account depression, anxiety disorders (e.g. post-traumatic stress disorder) and substance abuse disorders in the studied women. A detailed and thorough table that describes every study, with particular attention to women's age, scale used for assessment, results, and type of the study.
****************************** **********
ITEM #3: The link between abortion and divorce
Is a married couple who aborts their child more likely to divorce? If so, is there a direct relationship between high abortion rates and high divorce rates? Theologian Diertrich Bonhoeffer hinted that this might be the case.
****************************** **********
ITEM #4: More cold-hearted "advances" in the Culture of Death
The reason Samples is able to speak about NGS in such a casual manner is that he never discloses the scientific fact that embryos are human beings. To be certain, terms like embryo and fetus can be used accurately. However, they can also be used to dehumanize human beings and mask the atrocities we commit against them. To unmask the grotesque and inhumane practice Sample hides with such casual callousness, I will rewrite some of his sentences, replacing the word embryo with human being.
****************************** **********
ITEM #5: Many against death penalty
India: 40% of respondents 'fully' or 'somewhat' agreed with the proposition that death penalty should be go "as life imprisonment was punishment enough", 30% disagreed. Another 30% did not offer an opinion.
****************************** **********
ITEM #6: Why don't bishops speak out more against porn?
The prevalence and widespread use of pornography online and elsewhere is not a mark of a healthy society. Blessed Pope John Paul II's work on the Theology of the Body should have put paid to the notion that the Catholic Church is 'anti-sex' or puritan, but pornography works corrosively against the interest of the creation of good fathers, husbands, fosters vice instead of virtue, raising fantasy instead of real relationships and, of course, exploits and demeans women.
****************************** **********
ITEM #7 Nearly one third of late-term abortion patients had a late-term abortion before
According to a study sponsored by the Alan Guttmacher Institute, which was founded by Planned Parenthood, 30%, or almost one third, of women having late-term abortions have had at least one previous late-term abortion.
****************************** **********
ITEM #8: What is Planned Parenthood Hiding?
It seems that the only thing Planned Parenthood wants you to know about these days is how to confidently have lots of sex with lots of people and how to deal with the pregnancies and diseases that result from having lots of sex with lots of people. Not that those are connected in any way of course.
****************************** **********
ITEM #9: Why we're losing the battle for marriage
The fight to save marriage, as current being waged, is largely pointless. It simply cannot be won on these terms. If defenders of marriage can let go of their own politically correct fixations and squarely face some harsh but incontrovertible facts, it is still possible to stop the impending destruction of marriage by the courts.
****************************** **********
ITEM #10: Women often miss easy way to increase chances of getting pregnant
There's a simple, free step women can take to help them get pregnant, yet few women know about it, a new study shows.
****************************** **********
ITEM #11: Contraception - What the Church Teaches
Upon learning that the Church has a teaching about contraception, it is not uncommon for some to question why the Church is interested in such matters. Further, because the Church's teaching on contraception is rarely given the level of attention and discussion it deserves, it is often unclear what exactly the Church teaches. This article is a brief introduction to a beautiful teaching that I believe, when understood, will be embraced with great joy.
****************************** **********
ITEM #12: "Humanae Vitae" and Sacred Scripture: A Missed Opportunity
While prophetic in many ways, the most controversial encyclical of the twentieth century might have been better received had a stronger biblical argument been made in its favor.
