Day Gardner Comments on Jahi McMath and Her Family's Struggle to Keep Her Alive
Contact: Day Gardner, 202-834-0844, daygardner23a@aol.com
WASHINGTON, Dec. 31, 2013 /Christian Newswire/ -- The following is submitted by Day Gardner, President of the National Black Pro-Life Union:
Less than an hour before the hospital
was slated to disconnect Jahi McMath from a ventilator, her family won a
last-minute extension on a restraining order that prevents Children's
Hospital Oakland from removing the teen from a ventilator for another
week.
I can't believe we have come to this. A person can have a
heartbeat, a pulse and can even be breathing, yet in America a group
of doctors can determine that persons' value. How is that?
Jahi
McMath is in danger of being starved and dehydrated to death while
judges and doctors play tiddleywinks with a young girl's life.
The
order by Alameda County Superior Court Judge Evelio Grillo gives
Jahi's family until 5 p.m. Jan. 7 to appeal to a higher court and find a
new facility for the teen left brain-dead on Dec. 12 following
complications from a tonsillectomy.
We live in a society where
medicine, science, doctors and judges are deemed the "be all-end all"
with regards to life issues. I believe in a higher authority.
I
believe that Jahi is sleeping and given enough time, God can and will
decide when and if she awakens. I am praying for a miracle.
There
is so much evil associated with those trying to kill Jahi. For
instance, even though Jahi's family's attorney, Christopher Dolan,
filed papers in three courts Monday to keep the hospital disconnecting
the girl from her ventilator, hospital spokesman Sam Singer said the
hospital plans to fight all three filings.
Really...are they that determined to kill this child?
I
am asking the Christian community to join me in prayer with heartfelt
faith -- knowing that the God we serve is the same yesterday, today and
tomorrow. We remember the amazing miracles of the Bible and we have
seen amazing miracles in present day.
Lift your voices for healing in Jesus' name. Jahi is alive -- until God says otherwise!
