Data
released last week found that 62 percent of American men who
self-reported being HIV-positive said they had unprotected anal sex with
a male partner in the last 12 months.

“Plan
B,” the “morning-after” contraceptive pill, which can be taken up to 72
hours after sex, was supposed to be the “magic bullet” for women who
failed to plan ahead.

The
American Civil Liberties Union announced on Monday that it had filed a
lawsuit against the nation’s Roman Catholic bishops, arguing that their
anti-abortion directives to Catholic hospitals hamper proper care of
pregnant women in medical distress, leading to medical negligence.
