Your Weekly Prayer Reflection During Holy Times
“Go and tell John what you hear and see; the blind regain their sight, the lame walk, lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the poor have the good
news proclaimed to them.”
-Matthew 11:4-5

Third Sunday of Advent
Dear Friends,
The mission statement of CMMB (Catholic Medical Mission Board) explains that it is “rooted in the healing ministry of Jesus.” The Scripture passage cited above fills out the picture, describing key aspects of the ministry of Jesus. Through the work of volunteers, contributions from pharmaceutical companies, and donations from individuals and corporations, CMMB carries out this ministry on several continents – in small villages and in large cities. We try to bring God’s compassionate, healing power into our broken world. We show that God’s reign of kindness and compassion continues to break into our world.

Almighty God, Whose blessed Son Jesus Christ went about doing good and healing all manners of sickness and disease, continue this gracious work among us in the hospitals and clinics of our land. Console and heal the sufferers,
grant to the physicians wisdom and skill, to the nurses diligence and patience. Grant Your blessing to all who give of their substance so the sick can be helped and healed. We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
