National Pro-Life Organization Backs Mitt Romney for President
Determined to secure a pro-life victory in the November election, which will decide the fate of unborn children for decades to come, the National Right to Life Committee announced today that it has endorsed Republican candidate Mitt Romney for president.

On pro-life issues, Mitt Romney and Barack Obama provide a stark contrast. As the country s most pro-abortion president, Barack Obama has pursued a radical pro-abortion agenda, said Carol Tobias, president of National Right to Life. It is now time for pro-life Americans to unite behind Mitt Romney. For the sake of unborn children, the disabled, and the elderly, we must win.

NRLC says Romney has taken a strong pro-life position and is committed to implementing policies to protect the unborn, the medically dependent and disabled, and the elderly. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/04/12/national-pro-life-organization-backs-mitt-romney-for-president/

Pro-Life Women s Group Endorses Mitt Romney for President
A national pro-life women s group has issued an endorsement for Mitt Romney now that his leading opponent, Rick Santorum, has dropped out of the race for the Republican nomination.

The Susan B. Anthony List, which endorsed Santorum and campaigned feverishly on his behalf by taking a campaign tour bus across the country, is now supporting the former Massachusetts governor for the GOP nomination to take on pro-abortion President Barack Obama.

Now is the time to unite behind Governor Romney in order to defeat the most ideologically pro-abortion president in our nation s history, said Marjorie Dannenfelser, president of SBA List. The SBA List is proud to endorse Governor Romney and plans to spend $10 to $12 million in senate and presidential battleground states mobilizing pro-life voters to ensure victory. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/04/12/pro-life-womens-group-endorses-mitt-romney-for-president/

Bishops Launch Hard-Hitting Campaign for Religious Freedom
The nation s Catholic bishops have launched a new hard-hitting campaign supporting religious freedom with a new statement that pointedly takes on the new mandate the Obama administration put in place forcing groups to pay for birth control and abortion-causing drugs.

The Catholic bishops steadfastly opposed any accommodation with unjust laws and put forward plans for prayer, education and other initiatives to protect their rights from an overreaching federal government.

The statement, Our First, Most Cherished Liberty: A Statement on Religious Liberty, was issued by the Ad Hoc Committee on Religious Liberty of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops, proposes that June 21 the vigil of the feasts of St. John Fisher and St. Thomas More to July 4, Independence Day, be dedicated to this fortnight for freedom. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/04/12/bishops-launch-hard-hitting-campaign-for-religious-freedom/

Democratic Strategist Attacks Stay-at-Home Mom Ann Romney
Abortion advocates have reached a new low in their attempts to characterize pro-life Republicans as waging a war on women.

On CNN, Democratic strategist Hilary Rosen told Anderson Cooper that Ann Romney, the wife of presumptive Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney, has no room to comment on women s issues because she has never actually worked a day in her life. This ad hominem attack on Ann Romney omits the fact that she is the mother of five boys and has battled both breast cancer and multiple sclerosis.

Ann Romney fired back on Twitter, writing, I made a choice to stay home and raise five boys. Believe me, it was hard work. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/04/12/democratic-strategist-attacks-stay-at-home-mom-ann-romney/

Jill Stanek Endorses Mitt Romney, Says He s Genuinely Pro-Life
Following on the heels of the National Right to Life Committee and Susan B. Anthony List endorsing Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney, noted pro-life blogger Jill Stanek is supporting him as well.

Stanek says she has a soft spot for pro-life converts, which Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney is and the nurse who exposed the practice of live birth abortions believes the former Massachusetts governor is genuinely pro-life.

I think pro-lifers could do a much better job of supporting them. I think it is time for that to happen for some of us who have been reluctant about Romney. The fact that he used to be pro-abortion is the major hang-up, she said. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/04/12/jill-stanek-endorses-mitt-romney-says-hes-genuinely-pro-life/

Vermont Again Defeats Bill to Legalize Assisted Suicide
The Vermont legislature has defeated, for a second time this legislative session, an attempt to legalize assisted suicide in what could have made the state the third in the nation other than Oregon and Washington to allow the practice.

After nearly three hours of debate on the latest effort on both the process and substance of legalizing assisted suicide in the Green Mountain State, the amendment was defeated on an 18-11 vote.

Anne Fox of Massachusetts Citizens for Life was watching the vote because of the ramifications it could have on her state, which is considering legalizing assisted suicides. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/04/12/vermont-again-defeats-bill-to-legalize-assisted-suicide/

British Health Care Problems Point to Obamacare Death Panels
Much was made of Governor Sarah Palin s use of the term government death panels to lambaste Obamacare. Left-wingers and Democrats everywhere scoffed at the term and accused Palin of demagogy and even lying. But the fact is, government death panels of all sorts are inevitable once government takes over healthcare. In fact, once government takes over healthcare, all sorts of unscientific, non-health related nonsense creeps into your healthcare whether you like it or not and none of these decisions are made with your doctor s advice or consent.

To understand this we have but to look to countries that already have government provided healthcare to see many incidents of the foolishness that is government control of medicine. Arbitrary decisions are made, people are told they are too old to bother with and treatments are too late to save the patient because of long wait times. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/04/12/british-health-care-problems-point-to-obamacare-death-panels/

Will Obama Apologize to Ann Romney Like He Did Sandra Fluke?
Just hours after DNC adviser Hilary Rosen attacked stay-at-home mother of five Ann Romney for having never actually worked a day in her life during an interview on CNN, the Democrats war on women narrative has been turned on its head. For months, abortion advocates have tried to characterize pro-life Republicans as waging a war on women. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/04/12/will-obama-apologize-to-ann-romney-like-he-did-sandra-fluke/

Women More Likely to Have Mental Health Problems After Abortion
A new study from China shows that women who have experienced induced abortion have omnipresent mental health problems during a subsequent pregnancy. It also confirms that adverse mental health effects of induced abortion are far more severe than those of miscarriage and they persist longer. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/04/12/women-more-likely-to-have-mental-health-problems-after-abortion/

Pro-Abortion Students: Vandalizing Pro-Life Display is Free Speech
The pro-life student group at Northern Kentucky University was a victim of vandalism again recently after pro-abortion students and a professor were taken to court the first time. A previous vandalism scandal placed a spotlight on the university in 2005. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/04/12/pro-abortion-students-vandalizing-pro-life-display-is-free-speech/

Philosophy and Human Life: A Womb with Three Views
It did not happen. But it could have happened. It is a matter of historical record that Plato was born in Ancient Greece, Aquinas in the Middle Ages, and Jean-Paul Sartre in the Twentieth Century. Yet it would not have been impossible, in the lottery of life, for all three of these talented thinkers to have been conceived by the same woman and, to stretch the imagination to its outer edge, to have been united in the womb as fraternal triplets. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/04/12/philosophy-and-human-life-a-womb-with-three-views/

States Should Continue Dropping Obamacare Abortion Funding
There is a chance the Supreme Court, as early as June, could overturn all or part of the controversial Obamacare law that includes taxpayer financing of abortions. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/04/12/states-should-continue-dropping-obamacare-abortion-funding/
