Shocking Photo Shows Baby Forcibly Aborted in China at 9 Months
The one-child policy in China is coming under fire again and this time because of a shocking image of a baby who was a victim of a forced abortion at nine months of pregnancy submerged in a bucket of blood and water.
The web site Prison Planet originally reported on the shocking photo and says the baby was a victim of a forced abortion because the parents were already parents of another child and Chinese law prohibits most residents from having a second baby. Stories of forced abortions and sterilizations are very common and thousands of such abortions occur annually sometime up to the last weeks before birth.
As the web site reports: Because the parents of the baby already had a child, they were hunted down and forced to comply with China s draconian one child policy. The mother was injected with a poison that induced an abortion, but after the baby was pulled out inhumanly like a piece of meat, it was still alive and began to cry before doctors slung the defenseless child into a bucket and left it to die. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/04/03/shocking-photo-shows-baby-forcibly-aborted-in-china-at-9-months/
OPlanned Parenthood Hearing on Illegal Abortion Charges Postponed
A hearing in the criminal case against a Kansas Planned Parenthood abortion clinic, which was scheduled for last Thursday, has been put off indefinitely. Attorneys for Planned Parenthood and the District Attorney s office made a brief appearance in court last week to ask for the continuance.
The charges alleged that planned Parenthood failed to report cases of child rape on children on whom Planned Parenthood did abortions, that it failed to test whether an unborn child was viable (as required by state law) before doing a late-term abortion, and that it manipulated records it submitted to the state to cover up those crimes.
Because former attorney general Steve Six, an appointee of former Gov Kathleen Sebelius, destroyed the documents, a court dismissed all of the felony charges filed against Planned Parenthood because the evidence supporting those charges had been destroyed. Under Sebelius, the Kansas Health and Education Department fought access by Kansas Attorney General Phill Kline to original copies of abortion reports needed to prosecute Planned Parenthood. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/04/03/planned-parenthood-hearing-on-illegal-abortion-charges-postponed/
Time Magazine Considers Honoring Planned Parenthood Prez
Time Magazine is once again out with its voting process to establish another list of the Top 100 most influential people in American politics and public life. As she has before, Planned Parenthood president Cecile Richards is among the nominees.
Last year, Richards clocked in at the 69th most influential spot. She had been at a higher position, but a small campaign on Twitter led by some pro-life advocates like Bryan Kemper of Stand True helped lower her ranking as pro-life people were persuaded to visit the Time web site to declare the abortion mogul not influential.
This year, LifeNews is leading a campaign to prevent Richards from making the list. Before the campaign, which LifeNews started on Twitter and Facebook, a majority of voters responded to Planned Parenthood s call to vote for Richards to make the Top 100. Now, 63.68 percent of those voting have said No way when asked if the head of the nation s biggest pro-abortion business should be included. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/04/03/time-magazine-considers-honoring-planned-parenthood-prez/
I Can t Give Birth, But Must Pay for Women s Contraception
After many frustrating years of searching for answers to various health symptoms, I was diagnosed with a hormonal disorder, the cause of which is still unknown. After four years of marriage, I ve finally accepted the painful reality that I might never become pregnant or give birth to a child who has my husband s wit and generous, loving heart. So the recent federal Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) mandate that would force me to pay for other women s contraceptives and sterilizations as part of the new health care law s preventive services mandate adds insult to my injury.
Healthcare is about healing and restoring the body to good and proper functioning. Sterilization, abortifacients, and contraception communicate the irrational message that the healthy, natural state of fertility is somehow wrong and diseased. Mutilating healthy organs and distorting a woman s natural hormone levels in order to avoid pregnancy have nothing to do with preventing and treating diseases. Contraception promotes an impoverished view of a woman s body and the gift of her fertility. It is an affront to God s design for life and love because it deliberately separates a married couple s loving union from their ability to be open to life. God wove humanity into an incredibly delicate but splendid intricacy. We should celebrate and protect the capacity of women to join with their husbands in becoming co-creators with God. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/04/03/i-cant-give-birth-but-must-pay-for-womens-contraception/
Moving Sculpture Shows the Pain Women Face After Abortion
As an art student, Martin Hudác(ek of Slovakia was moved to create a sculpture to draw attention to the devastation abortion can bring to the woman, and that through the Love and Mercy of God, reconciliation and healing are possible.
The sculpture shows a woman in great sorrow grieving her abortion. The second figure in the work is the aborted child, presented as a young child, who in a very touching, healing way, comes to the mother, to offer forgiveness. Martin, who named the work Memorial for Unborn Children, said the sculpture also expresses hope which is given to believers by the One who died on the cross for us, and showed how much He cares about all of us.
Praised by many as an extremely effective representation of post-abortion trauma, the work sensitively communicates this reality, and draws out many emotions and interpretations. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/04/03/moving-sculpture-shows-the-pain-women-face-after-abortion/
October Baby Actress Finds Healing on Set at Pro-Life Movie
October Baby, a moving film with a message of life at the center of its story, surprised many in the media during its opening weekend by doing very well at the box office despite many odds.
What resonated with viewers? I suspect that in addition the film s genuine and heartfelt approach to the issue of abortion, authenticity was key in the performances by actors. During the end credits, viewers got a glimpse of how true one particular performance was when the filmmakers decided to include an interview clip of Shari Rigby, the actress who plays a post-abortive mother, which you can view by clicking here.

NPR Station Loses Hearing Over Bias Against Pro-Life Group
The Washington News Council (WNC) held a three-hour public hearing Saturday, March 31, at the University of Washington s Communications Building on a complaint by the Vitae Foundation against KUOW 94.9 FM Public Radio in Seattle. The WNC voted Vitae s way on five of the six questions posed on the NPR affiliate s ethical handling of the original story which aired April 13, 2011.
Pia de Solenni represented Vitae and Guy Nelson, News Director of KUOW, spoke for the radio station. At the end of the day, this is not about which side of the abortion debate one happens to stand on, but about the accountability of news outlets that is absolutely essential in a free and democratic society, de Solenni noted.

Obama s HHS Mandate: An Evil Violation of Conscience
The fundamental problem with the mandate is that it coerces some people into doing what they think is wrong, and this problem remains regardless of whether the coercion excuses the actions of the people being coerced. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/04/03/obamas-hhs-mandate-an-evil-violation-of-conscience/

Pro-Lifers Value Life of Unborn and Trayvon Martin s Too
The nation is mourning over the death of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin. Trayvon was killed in Sanford, Florida last month by self-declared neighborhood watchman George Zimmerman. Zimmerman is calling the shooting self-defense and has been protected under Florida s Stand Your Ground Law. Countless others are calling this a murderous hate crime. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/04/03/pro-lifers-value-life-of-unborn-and-trayvon-martins-too/
Why Would a Pro-Life Leader Walk in a Pro-Abortion March?
When I was invited to go back to Belgium to speak and participate in the 3rd annual March for Life in the heart of the European Capital, I never imagined I would also walk in a march supporting abortion. I know you must be scratching your head right now trying to figure out why in the world I would march in support of abortion rights, I know my friend Dries from Belgium was trying to figure this out when he saw me walking with them. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/04/03/why-would-a-pro-life-leader-walk-in-a-pro-abortion-march/
Mississippi Senate Cmte Passes One Pro-Life Bill, Kills Two
A Mississippi state Senate committee passed one pro-life bill today but killed two others. The Mississippi Senate Public Health Committee passed a bill to require abortion practitioners to have admitting privileges at a local hospital in case a botched abortion requires a woman to be immediately hospitalized. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/04/03/mississippi-senate-cmte-passes-one-pro-life-bill-kills-two/
Rwanda: Activists Target Pro-Life Laws, Want Legal Abortions
Rwanda, the country that suffered horrific genocide when 800,000 Rwandans were killed in ethnic fighting between the Tutsis and Hutus, is under pressure to change its law on abortion. It is hard to imagine that a country which witnessed the death of 20% of its population between April and June of 1994 may now fall victim to the demonstrably false argument that abortion is needed to reduce maternal mortality. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/04/03/rwanda-activists-target-pro-life-laws-want-legal-abortions/
