Planned Parenthood, Pro-Abortion Group Get Porn Biz Donation
A porn studio in California has selected a pro-abortion research group formerly affiliated with the Planned Parenthood abortion business as a recipient of its donation.

Girlfriends Films operates a monthly charity program that has made donations to legitimate community groups but also to the Planned Parenthood abortion business. Now, the pro-abortion Guttmacher Institute was selected to receive a gift of $1,000 from the porn studio.

Four decades after its creation, the Guttmacher Institute continues to advance sexual and reproductive health and rights through an interrelated program of research, policy analysis and public education designed to generate new ideas, encourage enlightened public debate and promote sound policy and program development, the company said in a press statement. The Institute s overarching goal is to ensure the highest standard of sexual and reproductive health for all people worldwide. The Institute produces a wide range of resources on topics pertaining to sexual and reproductive health, including Perspectives on Sexual and Reproductive Health, International Perspectives on Sexual and Reproductive Health and the Guttmacher Policy Review. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/04/04/planned-parenthood-pro-abortion-group-get-porn-biz-donation/

Pro-Life, Christian Writer Chuck Colson in Critical Condition
Chuck Colson, a pro-life Christian writer who has graced the LifeNews web site dozens of times with his insightful analysis and opinion is in critical condition following emergency surgery to remove a blood clot from his brain.

Colson, the founder of Prison Fellowship Ministries, has reportedly shown some early signs of potential for recovery, according to an AP report. He is currently hospitalized in northern Virginia where he reportedly suffered a brain hemorrhage while speaking last Friday.

Prison Fellowship Ministries issued the following update on the medical condition of its founder:

Chuck Colson, founder of Prison Fellowship, Justice Fellowship and the Colson Center for Christian Worldview, underwent surgery on Saturday morning to remove a pool of clotted blood on the surface of his brain. Colson became ill while speaking at the Wilberforce Weekend conference on Friday night. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/04/04/pro-life-christian-writer-chuck-colson-in-critical-condition/

Study: Pregnant Women Don t Need Abortion to Treat Cancer
A new collection of studies and medical data from The Lancet, a prominent British medical journal, shows pregnant women don t need to have an abortion in order to get treatment for cancer. The information shows chemo treatment does not harm the unborn baby and mothers can treat themselves for cancer without worrying about effects on the unborn child.

As the London Telegraph reports:

A collection of research studies published in a special edition of The Lancet medical journal has offered reassurance for women as it was found that chemotherapy treatment after the first trimester does not harm the unborn child. Up to one in 2,000 pregnancies is affected by cancer and this rate is increasing by 2.5 per cent a year as women have children later in life and cancer cases are rising. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/04/04/study-pregnant-women-dont-need-abortion-to-treat-cancer/

Media Ignore Court Telling Obama Admin to Back Off Pro-Lifer
The mainstream media is ignoring a case in which the Obama administration was forced to pay $120,000 to a pro-life advocate it targeted with a lawsuit and false claims that pro-life sidewalk counselor Susan Pine was violating federal law.

Pine counsels women who are considering abortion and provides help, resources, and support for women who choose life. Without any evidence of wrongdoing, Attorney General Holder accused Pine of obstructing the entrance to an abortion clinic in violation of the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances Act ( FACE ).

Attorney General Eric Holder and the Department of Justice had sought to levy thousands of dollars in fines against the pro-life activist as well as seeking a permanent injunction banning her from continuing her faithful 20-year ministry outside an abortion clinic in West Palm Beach, Florida. The Obama administration looked to appeal the case after a judge said the Obama administration was out of line to bring the lawsuit but the Department of Justice (DOJ) has dropped its appeal in Holder v. Pine after losing. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/04/04/media-ignore-court-telling-obama-admin-to-back-off-pro-lifer/

Creating Human Brings in Artificial Settings Morally Wrong
Many are the citations of late that expose a rampant increase in man s desire to deny scientific truth in favor of sham-science. This is perhaps most obvious in the matter of intrinsic human rights which, fundamentally, begin when a particular individual begins. Or not?

It depends on who is pontificating about that beginning, how the human being begins, and under what circumstances it is recognized. Is this happening because of ignorance or arrogance? You decide.

Let s begin in Jerusalem, where an American woman named Ellie Lavi recently gave birth to twin girls who were created in a fertility clinic. The two girls are very much alive and human but, according to the United States embassy in Tel Aviv, will not be recognized as United States citizens. The reason is that, according to an embassy staffer, the children were not eligible for citizenship unless she [Ellie] could prove that the egg or sperm used to create the embryo was from an American citizen. If Ellie had adopted twin girls from Russia, for example, while in Israel, these children would have been eligible for U.S. citizenship. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/04/04/creating-human-brings-in-artificial-settings-morally-wrong/

Terri Schiavo s Death Was Wake-Up Call: Euthanasia Benefits No One
We must never forget Terri and the premature, unthinkable death she endured. Last March 31st was the seventh anniversary of my sister, Terri Schiavo s death.

Terri was starved and dehydrated to death by those who value killing the innocent ahead of preserving life, and who put God second to the powers of a corrupt legal and government system or leave Him out of the equation, entirely.

Terri never wanted to die, and in fact told us just the opposite that she wanted to live. As we look back on all she endured, we realize that Terri did not die in vain. For years the death cult lurked in the shadows. Now, through the media coverage and public outcry surrounding Terri s tragic ordeal, the evil of imposed death on the innocent and vulnerable has been exposed. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/04/04/terri-schiavos-death-was-wake-up-call-euthanasia-benefits-noone/

Girls Deserve Better Than Statutory Rape, Secret Abortions
Would you let some man take your daughter to surgery without telling you? How about taking her across state lines?

Unbelievably, there is no legal protection against taking a child across state lines for an abortion even if you live in a state that requires parental notification or approval for an abortion upon a child.

Who takes under-aged, pregnant girls across state lines for abortion? ~most often, it s noncustodial, older men who are sexual predators seeking to conceal the crime of statutory rape or other noncustodial adults involved in sex trafficking of minors. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/04/04/girls-deserve-better-than-statutory-rape-secret-abortions/

Setting Huffington Post Straight on Obamacare Abortion Funding
On April 2, the Huffington Post ran an article titled: Obamacare Abortion Surcharge : The Facts Behind the Rumor. In the article, the author attempts to rebut assertions made by pro-life Americans about the abortion premium mandate nestled within the web of anti-life provisions in the Affordable Care Act. However, as explained below, pro-life outrage over this provision is justified. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/04/04/setting-huffington-post-straight-on-obamacare-abortion-funding/

India: Wife Beaten to Cause Third Sex-Selection Abortion
In a case that highlights the brutality and depravity of sex-selection abortions in India, a new report shows how a man tied up and beat his wife to cause her third consecutive sex-selection abortion. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/04/04/india-wife-beaten-to-cause-third-sex-selection-abortion/

Pro-Abortion Activists Vandalize College Pro-Life Display
The pro-life student group at Northern Kentucky University is a victim of pro-abortion activists vandalizing their display once again after pro-abortion students and a professor were taken to court the first time. The vandalism scandal placed a spotlight on the university in 2005. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/04/04/pro-abortion-activists-vandalize-college-pro-life-display/

Web Site Exposes Health Code Violations at Abortion Clinics
A new web site will inform women considering abortions of medical malpractice and health code violations at abortion centers across the country. The new online database, available at www.abortionsafety.com, provides abortion-minded women with the latest information on health violations and malpractice lawsuits, ensuring that they make more informed decisions, according to project oranizer Kelsey Hazzard of Secular Pro-Life. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/04/04/web-site-exposes-health-code-violations-at-abortion-clinics/

Wisconsin Recall Elections Could Have Massive Abortion Impact
With most of the country focused on primary elections, pro-life advocates in Wisconsin are gearing up for a critical June recall election of pro-life Governor Scott Walker, pro-life Lieutenant Governor Rebecca Kleefisch and several pro-life State Senators. While the impetus for the recall stems from leftwing opposition to Governor Scott Walker s policies regarding collective bargaining and public employee benefits, there is much at stake for unborn children. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/04/04/wisconsin-recall-elections-could-have-massive-abortion-impact/

Pro-Abortion Politicians Hide the Truth About Ultrasounds
In a desperate political move, opponents of informed consent legislation are hiding the truth about the use of ultrasounds to safeguard a woman s health. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/04/04/pro-abortion-politicians-hide-the-truth-about-ultrasounds/

Abortion, Eugenics Before European Court of Human Rights
The European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR) currently has before it an unprecedented number of cases relating to abortion. Because the principles established by the Court in its case law are binding on the 47 member states, the next few months will be decisive for the respect of human life and dignity. The European Centre for Law and Justice (ECLJ), which intervenes as a third party in many of these cases[1], wishes to draw attention to these very important cases. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/04/04/abortion-eugenics-before-european-court-of-human-rights/

Minnesota Bill Expanding Abortion Alternatives Progam Now Law
With overwhelming bipartisan support in the Minnesota House and Senate, a measure to broaden eligibility for the Positive Alternatives grant program has become law. The bill was signed into law today with the support of Minnesota Citizens Concerned for life (MCCL). http://www.lifenews.com/2012/04/04/minnesota-bill-expanding-abortion-alternatives-progam-now-law/

Wisconsin Man Pleads Guilty to Planned Parenthood Firebomb
A Wisconsin man who appeared unstable in court and apparently has no ties to any pro-life organization, pleaded guilty in court today to placing a firebomb at a Grand Chute, Wisconsin Planned Parenthood abortion business that caused minimal damage. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/04/04/wisconsin-man-pleads-guilty-to-planned-parenthood-firebomb/
