State of AZ passed law against porn!

Dear Friends

I am so excited to share the great news! Last week Arizona Governor Janice Brewer signed a bill into law that protects minors from being exposed to pornography at school or at the library and it also requires public libraries to publicly post their rules and policies in a conspicuous place.

This is a HUGE VICTORY!

Prior to this law, AZ had pretty weak laws in place. Now every computer that a child might possibly use or walk by must be protected. You can learn more about the law here.

We are especially optimistic now about the Safe Schools, Safe Libraries project. It is working! We launched efforts in January to help other concerned parents and citizens around the country find the tools necessary to do just this in their local communities. Currently, there are 63 people working on this.

IT IS POSSIBLE TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE! ARE YOU WILLING TO TAKE THE LEAD IN YOUR COMMUNITY? If you want to get involved in making your schools and libraries safe, contact us at grassroots@pornharms.com.

We are excited to share more with you about the victory in AZ. Center for Arizona Policy and Arizona Family Council really led the charge there. We're trying to organize a live video presentation with some of the folks who made it happen. (Many of them are just parents who work full-time and did this on the side!) Keep you posted.

Best,
Dawn Hawkins
Executive Director

P.S. I hope you are jumping up and down with me on this one!
