Pennsylvania Marriage Amendment Introduced - Is Your Representative a Sponsor?


 
Pennsylvania families need your help if we're going to protect marriage in our state. The State House of Representatives are now considering a bill to protect marriage in our State Constitution - and we need you to help make that happen.

As you know, we need this amendment because marriage between husband and wife benefits society in a way that no other relationship does. When our laws recognize marriage, it protects children by encouraging men and women to commit to each other and to take responsibility for their children.

Our state lacks protection of our marriage law. 39 states define marriage as the union of a man and a woman - including Pennsylvania. However, that definition is not in our State Constitution; leaving it vulnerable to redefinition by our legislature or court decision. Indeed, right now in Federal Court in Philadelphia, our Independence Law Center is defending Pennsylvania's marriage law from a constitutional challenge that seeks to redefine marriage. Please take action today!
