Don’t Worry, the Baby Is Already Dead

Morally sentient nurses in New Jersey shouldn’t make such a fuss about being forced to participate in gruesome abortions. After all,

One of the nurses, Fe Esperanza R. Vinoya, talked with the Washington Post and said a manager at the hospital told her: “‘You just have to catch the baby’s head. Don’t worry, it’s already dead.’”

Moonbat bloggers have predictably declared war on the nurses, to the disgust of blogger Thomas Peters.

He cited Erin Ryan of the pro-abortion blog Jezebel, who wrote, “From the way the complaint describes it, you’d think they were being ordered to line babies up and shoot them with a crossbow in front of their children.”

Thomas responded, “I won’t even repeat some of the other things I’ve seen written about these pro-life nurses.”

I think the need by pro-abort writers to hysterically blow this story out of proportion is telling: they have to exaggerate because the actual reality of what these nurses have been asked to do is truly horrifying. No one is talking about shooting babies with crossbows, we are talking about crushing a baby’s skull while the baby is still inside his or her mother and severing it from its tiny body. Pro-lifers demand that all sides simply face the gruesome facts,” he said. “For a movement that claims to be for ‘choice’, pro-aborts absolutely cannot admit that pro-life nurses have a choice not to assist at abortions. But the more important choice facing advocates of abortion is whether or not they will agree to discuss and confront the reality of abortion.”

That’s unlikely; otherwise, they wouldn’t hide behind euphemisms like “choice.”

The involuntary assistant child-killers have made a choice not to submit quietly:

The nurses filed a lawsuit against their employer, the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, which told them they had to either assist in abortions or risk losing their jobs. …

In their lawsuit, ADF [Alliance Defense Fund] says the facility receives federal health funds and it told them they needed to assist abortions or be terminated from their employment.

Once again we see that federal dollars don’t come with strings attached but rather chains.

At least under a soft tyranny resisters only lose their livelihood. Imagine what would happen to workers at Bergen-Belsen who didn’t want to participate.
