Poll Shows Republicans Tied Ahead of Iowa Caucus Vote
A new poll released today shows the Iowa caucus vote next Tuesday as Republicans cast their first ballots for the race to replace pro-abortion President Barack Obama will be a close one.

A new InsiderAdvantage/Majority Opinion Research poll among registered voters who say they will be voting in the first primary battleground state has GOP presidential candidates Ron Paul, Mitt Romney and Newt Gingrich tied at 17 percent apiece.

This is the second poll to confirm the surge in Iowa for Rick Santorum, who receives the support of 13 percent of Iowa Republican voters heading to the Tuesday caucus. Michele Bachmann places fifth with the backing of 12 percent, and Rick Perry receives support from about 11 percent.

The survey finds Bachmann and Paul lead with younger voters but Romney and Perry are ahead with older voters who are seen as more likely to participate in the caucus process. Male voters put Paul in first place followed by Gingrich and Bachmann while women prefer Romney, Gingrich and Santorum. http://www.lifenews.com/2011/12/29/poll-shows-repbulicans-tied-ahead-of-iowa-caucus-vote/

Abortion Practitioners Charged With Murder in Two States
Operation Rescue has learned that abortionists Steven Chase Brigham and Nicola Irene Riley have been charged with murder related to the deaths of viable babies at an illegal secret abortion clinic that the pair operated in Elkton, Maryland.

Brigham is currently in the custody at the Camden County Jail in New Jersey and Riley was arrested and is currently in the custody of the Salt Lake County Jail in Utah. Both are awaiting extradition to Maryland.

Brigham was charged with five counts of first-degree murder and five counts of second-degree murder. Riley was charged with one count of first-degree murder and one count of second-degree murder. The charges are the result of a Grand Jury investigation.

While late-term abortions are not illegal in Maryland, those who kill viable babies killed in the commission of crimes can be charged with murder in that state. http://www.lifenews.com/2011/12/29/abortion-practitioners-charged-with-murder-in-two-states/

Abortions Rose Slightly in 2008, But CDC Report Incomplete
On November 25, 2011, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) released its annual report with the most recent data and statistics on abortion in the United States, Abortion Surveillance United States, 2008.

The CDC has reported on abortion-related data annually since 1969. Generally these reports are very helpful and informative in terms of tracking and understanding larger trends and actual numbers related to abortion in the United States. The 2008 report is dense with information ranging from the ethnic background and age of the mother to the age of the baby when aborted, as well as the kind of abortion that took place

NBC Paints Santorum s Pro-Life Abortion Views as Extreme
As GOP presidential candidate Rick Santorum appeared as a guest on Thursday s Today show on NBC, substitute co-host Savannah Guthrie focused the interview on the former Pennsylvania Senator s views on abortion and contraception, and whether he would be acceptable to middle of the road voters. (Video below)

After her first question dealt with whether Santorum would just be the latest candidate to surge and then fade, the remaining three questions she asked focused on whether his social conservatism would appeal to mainstream voters.

Below is video of the relevant portion of the interview along with a transcript of all of Guthrie s questions from the Thursday, December 29, Today show on NBC. http://www.lifenews.com/2011/12/29/nbc-paints-santorums-pro-life-abortion-views-as-extreme/

Planned Parenthood Banks Tax Money Hurting Women With IUDs
It is strange to think about the things that happened at Planned Parenthood while I was there. I thought so many things were normal. Looking back, I see how they were anything but.

We had hundreds of protocols. Some were pretty common sense, others were not. One protocol in particular has really got me thinking over the past couple of weeks IUDs. And IUD is a birth control method that is inserted into the cervix. They function in several different ways; however, the primary way they work is by creating a hostile uterine environment so that a fertilized egg would not be able to implant on the uterine lining.

Part of our protocol talked about the insertion and removal. The other part talked about when they could be inserted. Get ready for this http://www.lifenews.com/2011/12/29/planned-parenthood-banks-tax-money-hurting-women-with-iuds/

Pregnancy Centers: Don t Lose Focus of the Baby in Abortion
Local prolife advocates in New Mexico have confirmed that abortion practitioner Bruce Ferguson is retiring on December 30 after doing abortions destroying the lives of women and unborn children for 30 years.

Project Defending Life has confirmed that Ferguson s abortion facility will also close and made the confirmation in an undercover call to his abortion clinic. However, the pro-life advocates discovered Ferguson has not had any change of heart when it comes to abortion and hoped someone else would pick up his mantle as an abortion practitioner.

In a phone call, Ferguson told a pro-life advocate seeking additional information that he was retiring due to his health, the health of his family, and his own his sanity. He stated, Someone else needs to carry the burden now. Ferguson also mentioned as a reason for his retirement a steady decline in the number of women seeking abortions each year, which confirms national data showing abortions on the decline. http://www.lifenews.com/2011/12/29/pregnancy-centers-dont-lose-focus-of-the-baby-in-abortion/

Planned Parenthood Helps Girls Keep Abortions From Parents
A teen writes to Planned Parenthood s experts about how she can obtain a second-trimester abortion and hide it from her parents. http://www.lifenews.com/2011/12/29/planned-parenthood-helps-girls-keep-abortions-from-parents/

Abortion Industry Only Concerned With Making Money Off Women
The abortion industry claims that a woman has the right to do whatever she wants with her body. Yet, when a woman wants to drink an over-the-counter herbal tea to induce an abortion, they are silent on the matter. I guess they only care about a woman s rights to choice as long as they can profit from it. http://www.lifenews.com/2011/12/29/abortion-industry-only-concerned-with-making-money-off-women/

The Future of the World s Population Powers
If demography is destiny, then courtesy of their great populations China, India and the United States clearly stand apart from other nations. http://www.lifenews.com/2011/12/29/the-future-of-the-world%E2%80%99s-population-powers/

Mother s Abortion Refusal Gives Hope to Many Moms to Be
He will have the most amazing set of lungs. Paul Stefan James lived for only forty-two minutes with a heartbeat, but never taking a breath. It seemed like a cruel coincidence that his mother s Chicken Soup for a Mother s Soul calendar had those words to offer on his birth date. http://www.lifenews.com/2011/12/29/mothers-abortion-refusal-gives-hope-to-many-moms-to-be/

New Zealand Sees More Doctors Refusing to Assist Abortions
Right to Life is pleased that an increasing number of doctors in New Zealand recognise that abortion is not healthcare and are refusing to be involved in the killing of unborn children. http://www.lifenews.com/2011/12/29/new-zealand-sees-more-doctors-refusing-to-assist-abortions/
