Newt Bubble Bursting? Iowa Poll Shows Drop, Romney Leading
Newt Gingrich quickly rose to the top of the polls following the exit of pro-life businessman Herman Cain from the Republican presidential race, but his sudden rise to the top made him the new punching bag.
With other candidates focusing their criticism on Gingrich, his polling numbers have already dropped in Iowa the first battleground state where GOP voters will head to the polls to cast ballots in the race to replace pro-abortion President Barack Obama.
For the fifth straight survey, the GOP field has a new frontrunner in Iowa, according to a new Rasmussen Reports poll out today. Pollster Scott Rasmussen reveals Mitt Romney as the new frontrunner in the Iowa Caucus.
Romney leads the field with the support of 23 percent of Republicans while Gingrich has dropped to 20 percent from his 32 percent standing on November 15. Romney upped his level of support from 19-23 percent.
Ron Paul comes in third place with the backing of 18 percent of Iowa voters and Rick Perry comes in fourth with 10 percent a bump from the single digits he was in during October and November. Michele Bachmann receives the support of 9 percent, those who are undecided come in at 8 percent, Rick Santorum receives 6 percent, and Jon Huntsman 5 percent. http://www.lifenews.com/2011/12/15/newt-bubble-bursting-iowa-poll-shows-drop-romney-leading/
Video Shows Sebelius Role in Planned Parenthood Rape Coverup
A new video produced by a national pro-life organization shows the role pro-abortion HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius had in a document shredding scandal that saw her administration s Attorney General shred documents important to a case concerning Planned Parenthood.
The Obama official has come under heavy fire from pro-life groups who are pointing out how a state attorney general she appointed in Kansas destroyed documents related 107 criminal charges former Kansas Attorney General Phill Kline filed against the abortion business. The charges alleged that planned Parenthood failed to report cases of child rape on children on whom Planned Parenthood did abortions, that it failed to test whether an unborn child was viable (as required by state law) before doing a late-term abortion, and that it manipulated records it submitted to the state to cover up those crimes.
Because former attorney general Steve Six, the Sebelius appointee, destroyed the documents, a court dismissed all of the felony charges filed against Planned Parenthood because the evidence supporting those charges had been destroyed.
American Life League released a new video report entitled, He Said, She Shred, that pieces together the role HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius played in a complicated criminal case involving 107 charges against Planned Parenthood, including 23 felonies involving the cover-up of child rape. http://www.lifenews.com/2011/12/15/video-shows-sebelius-role-in-planned-parenthood-rape-coverup/
GOP Candidates Press Pro-Life Themes at Gift of Life Event
At the Iowa premier of the new pro-life film Gift of Life, some of the Republican presidential candidates bashed pro-abortion President Barack Obama. The candidates joined more than 1,000 pro-life advocates for the unveiling of the new pro-life film Gift of Life.
Newt Gingrich, Michele Bachmann, Rick Perry and Rick Santorum came together for the event along with local pro-life Iowans as The Gift of Life made it s debut. The documentary was produced by Citizens United, the company made famous by a U.S. Supreme Court case that opened the door for unlimited spending on election ads by corporations.
Human Events, a national conservative newspaper, reported on the event and what each of the candidates told the audience in their talks. http://www.lifenews.com/2011/12/15/gop-candidates-press-pro-life-themes-at-gift-of-life-event/
Planned Parenthood Hiring 14-Year-Old Kids to Push Sex Ed
The Planned Parenthood abortion business in Wisconsin is going beyond the pale in its efforts to push its pro-abortion agenda on kids and teenagers by hiring them to push its sex education agenda on their peers.
Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin recently posted a job listing indicating it is looking for children as young as 14 to work as sex educators.
Planned Parenthood of WI (PPWI) is hiring Youth Health Educators at PPWI (there are 7 positions available), the new listing reads. Youth must be between the ages of 14-24, hold a current leadership position in a youth-serving Community Based Organization (CBO) or at their school/college, and be able to work at least 10-12 hours/week.
This position will further the department s mission of creating sexually healthy communities with a focus on reducing the rate of teen and young adult pregnancy and STIs, including HIV/AIDS. More specifically, this position will provide one-on-one health education to youth in our Youth Health Clinics, assist with providing direct sexuality education to youth via the youth text hotline and Youth Nights programming, and act as community advocates regarding issues of responsible sexuality education among adolescents and young adults, the listing says. http://www.lifenews.com/2011/12/15/planned-parenthood-hiring-14-year-old-kids-to-push-sex-ed/
Pro-Life Group: Iowa Calls Attacking Newt on Abortion False
A respected statewide pro-life group in Iowa says a personhood organization that ran robocalls to Republican voters there claiming newt Gingrich is not pro-life on abortion is misleading voters in the first GOP caucus state.
As LifeNews reported last weekend, a little-known Iowa pro-life organization is running misleading robocalls in Iowa telling republican voters that former Speaker Newt Gingrich, the leading GOP presidential candidate in most polls now, is not pro-life on abortion.
An organization calling itself Iowa Pro-Life Action, which supports a personhood amendment in the state, is behind the calls which attempt to make it appear Gingrich promoted abortion during his time as a Georgia congressman even though he maintained a 98% pro-life voting record on more than 70 votes.
Dear friend of the unborn as we approach the Iowa Caucuses, it s important for is to know who supports the rights of the unborn and who just talks the talk, the calls claim. You see while multiple GOP nominees may be trying to hide their views on life Newt Gingrich s record is clear. Gingrich used his power as Speaker of the House to fight for abortion rights for women in nearly all cases. Gingrich threatened pro-life legislators who were fighting for unborn babies, calling those pro-life legislators extreme . Newt said they were going to get hurt . Gingrich even taught pro-abortion legislators how to use parliamentary tools to help pass pro-abortion bills. Please take a moment to call Newt s Iowa office today. http://www.lifenews.com/2011/12/15/pro-life-group-iowa-calls-attacking-newt-on-abortion-false/
Red Cross: Women Should Have Access to Safe Abortions
A recently issued report from the International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent has caused concerns that the organization may start advocating for abortion rights.
In a section of the report on human rights IFRC quotes a widely criticized document issued by Anand Grover, the UN Special Rapporteur on the Right to Health, which said, States must take measures to ensure that legal and safe abortion services are available, accessible, and of good quality. The IFRC report goes on to editorialize, But the real challenge is to find out how many states will indeed change their policies accordingly.
This may lead some to believe IFRC could eventually declare abortion a human right as Amnesty International did in 2007. Amid much controversy, Amnesty International simply announced that endorsing abortion as a right was a natural outgrowth of its 2-year campaign countering violence against women.
Initially an external relations manager at IFRC told the Friday Fax the organization definitely did not consider abortion a human right. Gabriel Pictet, the manager of IFRC s community health unit said, IFRC did not change its position on abortion as a human right. To my knowledge it never had one. http://www.lifenews.com/2011/12/15/red-cross-women-should-have-access-to-safe-abortions/
Planned Parenthood Attacks GOPers for Signing Pro-Life Pledge
The abortion activists at Planned Parenthood are upset that three pro-life Republican candidates have signed a new pledge stating that they believe unborn children should have their right to life protected.
As LifeNews reported, three Republican presidential candidates have signed a new pro-life presidential pledge that has them affirming that unborn children join people after birth in deserving protection of their right to life. The pledge says, I proclaim that every human being is created in the image and likeness of God, and is endowed by our Creator with the unalienable right to life.
The new pledge already has the support of former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, Minnesota Congresswoman Michelle Bachmann, and former Pennsylvania Senator Rick Santorum. Dawn Laguens, Executive Vice President for Planned Parenthood Action Fund claimed their signing the pro-life pledge is the latest sign of how out of touch the GOP presidential candidates are on women s health.
Although the pledge has to do with providing legal protection for unborn children, Laguens misconstrued the language to claim the candidates favor outlawing in vitro fertilization, common forms of birth control, and cancer treatments for pregnant women; as well as abortion, even in the cases of rape or incest. http://www.lifenews.com/2011/12/15/planned-parenthood-attacks-gopers-for-signing-pro-life-pledge/
