Formal Debate: Is Abortion a Human Rights Injustice?
Columbus, OH – May 2, 2013 – "Do
you believe all humans are created equal?” This question, posed by
Created Equal Director of Training Seth Drayer, came in the midst of a
formal debate held last month at DePauw University in Greencastle, IN.
Created Equal had been asked to defend the anti-abortion position
against DePauw University professor and debate coach Dr. Geoff Klinger.Dr. Klinger's response to the question? "Occasionally.”

The
topic of the debate was the morality of abortion. However, lurking
beneath the discussion was a deeper question: are all humans created
equal? Throughout the night, Dr. Klinger's prejudiced views were first
implied and then underscored with his revealing answer of "occasionally”
to the question of human equality. The more we continue to show the victims of abortion and expose this prejudice, the more public opinion will shift. And the more opinion shifts, the more abortion advocates will be forced to accept invitations to formal debate out of desperation to defend themselves and remain in public favor.
