Judge’s Decision Sending Justina Pelletier to Foster Care Over Parents’ Objection Upsets Pro-Lifers Justina Pelletier is at the center of a legal battle between the Pelletier family and Boston Children’s Hospital over custody and proper medical treatment. A judge has sentenced the Connecticut teenager, who has been caught in a yearlong custody fight between her parents and Massachusetts child protection officials, o a new foster care program.
The ruling triggered an anguished response from her parents when it was announced by a juvenile court judge Monday and pro-life advocates are also up in arms. http://www.lifenews.com/2014/02/25/judges-decision-sending-justina-pelletier-to-foster-care-over-parents-objection-upsets-pro-lifers/
Newborn Baby Found Alive, Abandoned in Apartment DumpsterIn yet another abandoned baby case, a newborn was found alive abandoned in an apartment dumpster in Houston, Texas.

LifeNews has reported on a number of cases in recent months of babies who have been abandoned in a variety of places and left to die. These kinds of cases are occurring despite laws in numerous states helping to protect newborns from infanticide by allowing a mother to surrender her baby at someplace such as a hospital or fire station so the newborn can be cared for and placed with an adoptive family instead of killed. http://www.lifenews.com/2014/02/25/newborn-baby-found-alive-abandoned-in-apartment-dumpster/
Barbra Streisand’s Fundraising Letter for Pro-Abortion Group: “I Was Lucky Enough to be Born”Fundraising letters typically go through a number of proofs and edits before making their way out to people seeking donations.
Apparently irony was completely lost on actress and singer Barbra Streisand and the staff at the pro-abortion group Emily’s List, which sent this following dun letter to their donors.

South Carolina House Panel Passes Bill to Ban Abortions After 20 Weeks
A South Carolina state House committee has a bill that would ban abortions after 20 weeks based on scientific evidence showing unborn children feel pain. Currently the state allows abortions up to 24 weeks of pregnancy unless the life of the mother is at risk.
A National Right to Life Committee poll found that 63 percent of Americans, and 70 percent of women, support a ban on post-fetal pain abortion in Washington, D.C. The same poll also found that American women, by an overwhelming majority of 62-27 percent, would be more likely to vote for lawmakers who support this bill. http://www.lifenews.com/2014/02/25/south-carolina-house-panel-passes-bill-to-ban-abortions-after-20-weeks/

U.S. and Canada Join China, North Korea, and Vietnam Allowing Abortions After 20 Weeks The United States and Canada are among a handful of nations, two of which are the biggest human rights abusers in the world, that allow abortions on babies after 20 weeks. Every other nation on the planet either bans abortions after that time, which is just before viability, or limits them.
uscanadaA new report authored by Charlotte Lozier Institute (CLI) associate scholar Angelina Baglini and co-released today by CLI and Life Canada finds that the United States and Canada join China, North Korea, Singapore, Vietnam, and Netherlands in allowing abortion beyond 20 weeks, more than halfway through pregnancy and the point at which research shows the unborn child feels pain. http://www.lifenews.com/2014/02/25/u-s-and-canada-join-china-north-korea-and-vietnam-allowing-abortions-after-20-weeks/
66 Babies Born Alive After Abortions in One Year in Britain, 16 After ViabilityThe problem of how to deal with babies born alive after abortion has been highlighted by a question asked at the Council of Europe.
The Committee of Ministers has been asked to act ‘in order to guarantee that foetuses who survive abortions are not deprived of the medical treatment that they are entitled to – as human persons born alive – according to the European Convention on Human Rights’. http://www.lifenews.com/2014/02/24/66-babies-born-alive-after-abortions-in-one-year-in-britain-16-after-viability/

Belgium King Urged Not to Sign Measure Allowing Doctors to Euthanize ChildrenLeading pro-life campaigners in Europe are urging Belgium’s king not to sign a measure to extend euthanasia to children with disabilities.
Belgium’s parliament voted earlier this month to allow the controversial practice. No age limit would be set, but the children who are euthanized would have “to possess the capacity of discernment.” http://www.lifenews.com/2014/02/25/belgium-king-urged-not-to-sign-measure-allowing-doctors-to-euthanize-children/

New Documentary “Veil of Tears” Highlights Sex-Selection Abortion, Infanticide in South Asia Gender-based abortion, infanticide, bride burning, sex trafficking, widow abandonment – these are just a few of the abuses aimed at women Gospel for Asia highlighted today as it promoted its new documentary “Veil of Tears” (www.veiloftearsmovie.com) at the National Religious Broadcasters (NRB) convention. http://www.lifenews.com/2014/02/25/new-documentary-veil-of-tears-highlights-sex-selection-abortion-infanticide-in-south-asia/

Which is Worse? Pro-Abortion Feminism or Pro-Abortion Racism? Our question is…what’s the difference between the two? Liberal feminism celebrates “reproductive justice” which simply means more black babies are aborted than are born alive. http://www.lifenews.com/2014/02/25/which-is-worse-pro-abortion-feminism-or-pro-abortion-racism/
An Extra Dose of Love: A Brother’s Story of Trisomy 21 My youngest sister, Eva, just turned 12 this past December 31st. Each year, my parents invite friends and family over to celebrate the new year and the birth of our favorite family member at our New Years “Eva” party. Now I know, we aren’t supposed to have favorites, and our large family would seem to make unanimous consent impossible. http://www.lifenews.com/2014/02/25/an-extra-dose-of-love-a-brothers-story-of-trisomy-21/
Jahi McMath’s Mother Owes No Apology for Defending Her Daughter’s Right to Live The Jahi McMath tragedy remains ongoing as she continues to be maintained on a ventilator.
