The Poisonous Candy: Emergency Contraception for Kids
By Judie Brown
Children grow up too fast and the few years they have when they can actually be children should be nurturing and character-forming. Today's world pushes children to grow up and make adult decisions well before they are able, and where this is most prevalent is in regard to sexuality. This is becoming the case at an alarming rate, as we will see in today's commentary.

Montgomery County defends disclaimer at anti-abortion pregnancy centers
Washington Post
Lawyers for Montgomery County on Thursday vigorously defended a controversial ordinance that requires certain anti-abortion pregnancy centers to post signs warning that the centers do not employ licensed medical personnel and urges pregnant women to "consult with a licensed health care provider." Shortly after the ordinance was passed, one of the pregnancy centers----Centro Tepeyac Silver Spring Women's Center----filed a lawsuit in county district court, alleging that the law was unconstitutional. In June, a panel of federal judges ruled that the disclaimer violated free-speech rights, and the county appealed.

Guttmacher inflates abortion numbers by 1000%, intentionally misleads on abortion-related deaths
Reproductive Research Audit
A study published yesterday in the International Journal of Women's Healthdetermined that figures published by the Alan Guttmacher Institute (AGI) estimating the numbers of illegal abortions dwarf the actual figure of legal abortions 10 fold. Likewise, researchers discovered that AGI purposefully includes women who died from ectopic pregnancies, miscarriage and assault in their calculations of illegal abortion-related mortality. While the former could be dismissed as gross incompetence, the latter can only be explained as intentional deception.

The persistent political pull of the purse strings of Planned Parenthood prevails
Bound4Life
I write a lot of posts about Planned Parenthood funding----and why we shouldn't do it at any level when we have the choice to avoid it, but this week's analysis of Planned Parenthood's campaign spending hits the point home for me. According to a recent article in the Washington Post: "Planned Parenthood Action Fund earned an honor this campaign cycle that had nothing to do with women's health: It was the most effective political group in the 2012 election. The group spent about $15 million this year, more than tripling the $4 million it spent in 2008. It wanted to make sure those dollars were targeting the voters who would be open to their message." Citing the analysis by the Sunlight Foundation, the article notes that Planned Parenthood's return on its campaign investments was over 98%. You don't have to understand politics to know the abortion mega-giant got an A-plus.
