Your Weekly Prayer Reflection During Holy Times

“May God strengthen your hearts, making them blameless and holy before our God and Father at the coming of our Lord Jesus with all His holy ones.”
1 Thessalonians 3, 13

First Sunday of Advent

Dear Friends
The holy season of Advent begins this Sunday, to prepare us for the coming celebration of Christmas. This consists of four weeks of preparation, but the secular culture has outdone us in preparing us for Christmas. Even before Thanksgiving, we see Christmas decorations and advertisements.
It is in our hands to uphold the sacred season of Advent. It becomes a time of watching, waiting, reflecting, and hoping that the Lord will indeed come this Christmas with light, peace and power into our hearts, families and world. As the Lord wants to enter our world in new ways this Christmas, we do our part by opening our hearts and letting Him in. We cast out the ways and works of darkness, and let in the light.

Almighty God, give us grace that we may cast away the works of darkness and put upon us the armor of light. Now is the time in which Your Son Jesus Christ came to visit us with great humility so that when He comes again in majesty to judge the living and the dead, we may rise to life immortal. We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
