From SFLA: what has Roe done for us?

What Has Roe Done for Us? Tour

Students for Life of America launched the historic What Has Roe Done For Us? tour on Monday at Oregon State University, the first of 25 schools in a dozen states that the tour will visit this spring. The graphic display takes aim at the myths from the abortion industry that legal abortion is good for women.

Roe v. Wade and Doe v. Bolton have left more than 40 years of devastation in their wake. Legalizing abortion did not help women. The pro-abortion scare tactics that thousands of women will die when abortion is made illegal are false. The majority of pre-Roe abortions were not committed in back-alleys and the abortion industry has admitted that it made up the myth that tens of thousands of women died every year from illegal abortion. When abortion is illegal again, there will not be an epidemic of women dying from abortion.

There is nothing safe about legal abortion. Abortion will always be dangerous for women and bad for their health. Roe has done nothing to change that. Legal abortion has not made abortion clean or safe. Abortionists like Kermit Gosnell and Douglas Karpen are butchering women in dirty facilities. They are the norm for the abortion industry, not the exceptions. Legal abortion enables men to cover up abuse of women and coerce them into having abortions. We need to be offering real support and options for women experiencing crisis pregnancies.

National Abortion Facility Action Weekend

March is here, and we have a new challenge for you!

The Spring 40 Days for Life campaign will begin on Wednesday, March 5th, and we want pro-life students to get out and support local efforts. We challenge you and your pro-life student group to take action on Friday, March 7th, and Saturday, March 8th.

The goal of this year’s National Abortion Facility Action Weekend is to activate students to engage in community outreach. Your action will show the community that this generation is PRO-LIFE, and the tide has already turned for LIFE.

Rally your campus, church, or community pro-life group to stand outside your local abortion business to be a witness for life. This pro-abortion website will help you find a facility near you. You can saves lives with your presence, prayer, and assistance.

Make Your Campus Family Friendly!

Pregnant and parenting resources are important to prospective and current students. Without resources and support, pregnant and parenting students may be forced into a life path with little or no college education, reduced employment prospects, and possibly poverty. By challenging your school to improve resources and support for your pregnant and parenting community, you will be impacting not only your peers but also their families. These resources will also play an important role in the work experience of your school’s faculty and staff.

As the pro-life student group on your campus, you need to ensure that your peers are receiving comprehensive information about available resources (on campus and in the community) so that they can make informed decisions about their health and about their educational advancement. Moreover, your group needs to be pushing projects that will transform your campus into a “family friendly” community! Your efforts to increase awareness and resources on campus will encourage more students to recognize the support available for pregnant and parenting students.
